Best Tan-2 build in Destiny Rising

Go Solar squad!

The good old Well of Radiance is back to dominate the meta, but this time in Destiny: Rising. One of the standard five-star characters is Tan-2, who’s a Solar support. If you are lucky enough to have him, definitely build him to use in raids and other endgame content.

All Tan-2 abilities in Destiny Rising

Tan-2 is a support who can heal allies and increase everyone’s outgoing damage with his Super. He does have some damage abilities to clear adds faster, but those aren’t integral to his role as the team’s support.

Here are all Tan-2’s abilities in Destiny: Rising:

  • Flare (Passive): Dealing damage in Duskstar or Dawnstar states fills up a respective meter. Once the meter is full, the next Sunrise or Sunset ability will be enhanced. Casting an enhanced ability grants Phosphorus, increasing your weapons’ damage.
  • Twilight Shift (Signature): Switches between Duskstar and Dawnstar states.
  • Sunset (Duskstar Signature): Fires a Solar projectile that deals damage, applying damage over time and preventing enemies from healing. Enhanced Sunset creates an extra explosion.
  • Sunrise (Dawnstar Signature): Creates a healing rift. Enhanced Sunrise increases the rift’s radius and duration.
  • Blessing of Dusk (Duskstar Super): Creates a zone that increases allies’ damage.
  • Blessing of Dawn (Dawnstar Super): Creates a zone that rapidly regenerates health.

The abilities are quite straightforward. Depending on the situation, you can choose to lean into damage or healing. For example, during close-range damage phases, you can use Blessing of Dawn to keep the team alive or combine Blessing of Dusk with enhanced Sunrise, especially if you have multiple supports.

Best Tan-2 weapons in Destiny Rising

Tan-2 is all about long-range damage, armed with a scout rifle and a sniper. This doesn’t mean you must stay in the back at all times, but fighting up close definitely isn’t as comfortable.

Polaris Lance is an Exotic scout rifle and the best primary for Tan-2. It comes with the perk The Perfect Fifth, which fires a delayed explosive round after landing four precision hits. It’s fantastic for dealing with tanky enemies, and the Nanoinflammation perk also synergizes with Tan’s weapon mastery debuffs.

Among Mythic weapons, there’s Total Lockdown and DEL3 Lassi. Total Lockdown has better perks, including Annihilation, Explosive Payload, Rampage, and Dragonfly. It’s also a Solar weapon, unlike DEL3 Lassi, which is Void.

The best Exotic sniper for Tan-2 is Izanagi’s Burden. Much like its counterpart from Destiny 2, it allows you to load the entire mag into one shot with increased range and damage. It’s by far the best DPS option until we get a new Exotic sniper.

40000 Sidereal Year is the best choice among Mythic weapons. It’s a Solar Rapid-Fire Frame sniper that can roll perks like Firing Line and Searing Mark that increase precision damage. 40000 Sidereal Year also has higher base DPS than the Magoichi, which is the other Mythic sniper.

An honorable mention on this list is Borealis. It’s an Exotic that you can obtain from the 14-Day Sign-In event. This weapon is primarily designed to break elemental shields thanks to The Fundamentals perk. Matching elements to break shields is key to clearing activities fast, making Borealis a solid pick for any piece of content—it’s just not as DPS-focused.

Tan-2 relies on landing precision hits with his weapons, and you can boost them even more using Unrelenting Token and Calming Token Artifacts. Unrelenting Token reduces incoming damage when aiming down sights with your sniper, and Calming Token increases precision damage while stationary. Both are handy during boss damage, where you’ll likely be standing still in your Super.

The other two Artifacts, Inverted Guard and Inverted Vengeance, are solid generalist picks to keep you at high health all the time. You could go for something more team-oriented, like Talisman of Revival in the first slot, but that’s up to you.

For the Attributes, Healing Bonus, Damage Bonus Boost, Super Boost, and Signature Boost are a must to increase the potency of your healing and damage buffs. Because you mainly rely on weapons to deal damage, Weapon Enhancement is also worth having.
