Destiny Rising Artifacts guide: Stats, farming, and more

The grind never stops.

Destiny: Rising is a gacha game, and while you can still farm for god roll weapons, there’s one more thing you need to grind to make your characters as strong as possible. Artifacts provide passive stat increases to your characters, and there’s a level of RNG involved to get the best ones.

If you’re new to the gacha world, here’s a quick rundown on how Artifacts work in Destiny: Rising and how to farm them.

Effects and stats

Each character has four Artifact slots, with each slot having a unique Artifact pool. Unlike many gacha games, there are no Artifact set bonuses in Destiny: Rising. You don’t have to match pieces from the same set to get a power spike. Instead, you can focus on individual Artifacts and their stats.

Each Artifact in Destiny: Rising has:

  • Power: Total Power you get from the piece.
  • Gear level: Item’s level that increases Power and base Attributes’ numbers.
  • Enhancement level: The level that further increases the Attributes’ numbers.
  • Attributes: Stats that boost the character’s damage, defense, etc.
  • Set Effect: Artifact’s unique effect.

The main things you need to look for when choosing Artifacts for a character are the Set Effect and Attributes. The Set Effect is an Artifact’s specific effect that should synergize with the character’s gameplay. For example, Nimble Veil reduces damage taken for three seconds when casting movement abilities. It works well with Wolf because his Wolf’s Strike movement ability can instantly recharge if you get a kill, providing constant uptime on Artifact buffs.

Next are the Attributes. Each Artifact, depending on rarity, has multiple random Attributes, and you want to keep pieces with stats that make sense for your character. For example, Wolf needs Ability Strength, Signature Boost, and Overshield Bonus, because his kit is all about ability spam and gaining overshields with the first Relic trait.

Finding a perfect artifact:

The game has a Recommended tab to see which Artifacts work best with a specific character. It also highlights stats needed for the character using a thumbs-up icon.

Exotic Artifacts

After completing the campaign and unlocking the Acclaim feature, you’ll be able to get Exotic Artifacts for your characters. Exotic Artifacts are rare, have four Attributes, and are element-specific. This means that, depending on the Artifact’s element, you can only use it on characters of that specific element.

exotic artifact drop rates:

Drop rates for Exotic Artifacts increase with the Acclaim level, so focus on increasing it, and you’ll start getting them eventually.

Artifact Tiers and Gilding

The more total Attribute Points your character has, the higher the Artifact Tier will be. Artifact Tier increases the strength of each equipped Artifact’s Set Effect and grants passive survivability buffs (Health, Shield, and Defense).

You can further improve your survivability by increasing the Gilding Level. Gilding unlocks after the main campaign and is shown with a blue button above the Artifacts. The higher the Artifact Tier, the higher the benefits, and you can increase the level by unlocking additional nodes in the Gild menu.

Artifact Refactor

Once you reach Acclaim level 10, you’ll be able to increase the Artifact’s Gear Level to 80 and use the Artifact Refactor feature. Artifact Refactor allows you to reroll Attribute values (not the stats themselves) and squeeze a little bit more benefit out of every piece.

If the result’s average is lower than the original values, the Artifact will accumulate luck points. When the Artifact has maximum luck points, the next reroll is guaranteed to be better than your current one. The luck is also reset every time you get a better roll.

How to get Artifacts in Destiny Rising

Artifacts come from the Realm of the IX adventures in Destiny: Rising. You can play three activities to get new Artifacts, including some one-time rewards and farmable activities.

Here are all the Realm of the IX activities:

  • Singularity: Order
  • Singularity: Chaos
  • The Expanse

Singularity: Order is a series of one-time levels you can complete to get to know different types of gifts/buffs you can obtain. These activities don’t require Pinnacle Energy and award Artifact Engrams, which you can decipher to get an Artifact of your choice.

Singularity: Chaos is a farmable roguelite activity, where you complete multiple stages of random rooms. As with most activities, you can claim base rewards or spend Pinnacle Energy on Pinnacle Rewards that are guaranteed to drop Artifacts. Before starting a run of Singularity: Chaos, you can also select which artifacts you want, increasing their chance of dropping.

The Expanse is an endgame activity that resets every week. There are 20 stages, with every three offering Lumina Leves, Artifactual Dust, and Elemental Fruits. Clearing stage 20 awards a chest that you can use to get an Exotic Artifact of your choice.
