See AllSpider-Man: No Way Home Was The Worst Thing To Happen To The MCU
While other long running franchises don't meet the shared universe bar by bringing together character who started solo, I'd argue Godzilla and Kong have. While not MCU money I wouldn't say that shared universe is "dead or dying" either. The films and show are doing well enough. Plus Godzilla manges within less than a year to successfully act as a "silly fun, smash up, the world while protecting it from and external threat" character while almost simultaneously acting as an avatar of the fear of nuclear annihilation for the only people to have such weapons used on them during war. Not many characters can be that versatile. Sure, we've seen deadly serious Wolverine (Logan) and straight man Wolverine (Deadpool and Wolverine) or schlok Batman (1960s TV show) and Dark Knight Batman (The Dark Knight) but those portrayals were years, not months apart. Either way I'd call Godzilla and Kong, which at one point included Rodan and Mothra who also started in solo films a shared universe that is not dead or dying and one that, when including the older 20th century films, was doing the shared universe thing long before the MCU was even a twinkle in Feige's eye.
