Worlds 2025 will feature teams from major regions, like Korea, China, Europe, and America, but it will also feature teams from the minor regions, who will get their chance to write the best underdog storyline and cause a few upsets.

Worlds 2024 became the most-watched esports tournament with 6.94 million peak viewers, and if the trend continues, it’s likely to break the record again in 2025, delivering breath-taking action as the best players lock their horns to get the ultimate glory of becoming a World Champion.

A total of 17 elite teams from around the world will participate in Worlds 2025. These teams will battle for the championship title on the biggest stage in esports, and the confirmed names so far are listed below:

Korea (LCK)

Qualified teams to appear at the international tournament:

  • Gen.G
  • Hanwha Life Esports
  • KT Rolster
  • T1

Korea has been dominating the international League scene with multiple international wins in recent times, and they’re undoubtedly the favorites to win it all. Gen.G have been dominating with one of the biggest winning streaks. HLE lost a bit of form, but they’ve got their form back in the playoffs, and they’re looking to claim their second international trophy after FST. KT Rolster defeated Gen.G in the LCK playoffs, and they’re already in the main event for Worlds 2025, so they might be the underdogs for the region looking to cause some major upsets at the event.

As for T1, the script writes itself as they find themselves against China’s fourth seed.

China (LPL)

Qualified teams to appear at the international tournament:

  • Bilibili Gaming
  • Anyone’s Legend
  • Top Esports
  • Invictus Gaming

China keeps faltering at the edge of international events despite reaching finals and eventually falling to Korean teams in the grand finals. As Worlds 2025 comes back to China, the home squads with Bilibili Gaming, Anyone’s Legend, and Top Esports would be looking to start a new era of domination for the Chinese squads, starting from this tournament.

However, Invictus Gaming will have a do-or-die match with T1, who are known for their solid record against LPL teams, and if they manage to force an early exit for Faker and team at the tournament, it should increase the odds for the Chinese squads to lift the international trophy and break the curse.

Europe (LEC)

Qualified teams to appear at the international tournament:

  • G2 Esports
  • Movistar KOI
  • Fnatic

G2 Esports have claimed their first domestic title after faltering multiple times in the domestic finals, and it seems the team has finally built their synergy right before Worlds 2025. They’ll be looking to forget their performance from MSI 2025 and have a deep run at the tournament alongside Movistar KOI.

As for Fnatic, they defeated the strong KC lineup to also come to the international tournament, so they’ll be the underdogs for Europe, and fans will have expectations from them.

America (LTA North)

Qualified teams to appear at the international tournament:

  • FlyQuest
  • 100 Thieves

FlyQuest have assembled one of the strongest rosters that has performed well throughout the year. Apart from their domestic success of winning two out of three splits, they’ve also defeated G2 Esports at MSI 2025, so fans would naturally want them to maintain their momentum and make NA proud at the international stage.

As for 100 Thieves, it might be their last chance to secure their glory at the international event because there are rumours in the industry that their slot might be going to Sentinels after this tournament for the next year, so they’d love to have a title to end it on a high note.

South America (LTA South)

Qualified team to appear at the international tournament:

  • Vivo Keyd Stars

Vivo Keyd Stars won the LTA South third Split 3, but the gap between them and FlyQuest in the LTA Championship grand finals was quite big, and they’ve their work cut out for them before the international event to work on their strategies and fix their meta read to face one of the biggest teams in the international tournament.

Qualified teams to appear at the international tournament:

  • CTBC Flying Oyster
  • Secret Whales
  • PSG Talon

CTBC Flying Oyster are the only team in this list that has qualified for all the international events, and they’re redefining what it means to be from a minor region. They’ve already pulled a few upsets at MSI 2025, and all eyes will be on them to have a deeper run at the tournament. PSG Talon also marks the return of Karsa and Maple on the international stage. A few notable teams, like GAM Esports and Japanese teams, have missed their spot at Worlds 2025, but Secret Whales should have their shot to make history.
