Battlefield 6 ‘Global Game Quota Exceeded’ error, explained

Not so fast.

No game launch goes without errors, and that includes such a long-awaited title as Battlefield 6. If you’re looking to play the Portal in BF6, you might encounter the Global Game Quota Exceeded error, which can taint your experience, especially early during launch.

Here’s everything you need to know about the Global Game Quota Exceeded error in Battlefield 6 and how to fix it.

What causes ‘Global Game Quota Exceeded’ error in BF6

The Global Game Quota Exceeded error appears when creating a new Portal server/experience in Battlefield 6. There’s a maximum number of servers that can run at the same time, and considering high player counts, it’s possible there won’t be enough space for you to launch your own.

Community servers have the option to run as persistent servers. Persistent servers remain available even when the host is offline. While this allows you to return to the same experience and play with the same people, it also takes up server quota.

How to fix ‘Global Game Quota Exceeded’ error in BF6

The only way to fix this error is to keep trying to start the server until another server shuts down, creating room for more. Alternatively, you can wait until the player counts drop and try to launch the server during off-peak times, when it’s more likely (but not guaranteed due to persistent servers) to be more room for a new server.

EA hasn’t addressed the issue yet, but keep an eye out on the official Battlefield Comms X (formerly Twitter) page for any updates.
