Zhu Yuan depends on her Suppressive Mode to deal higher damage, which you can activate by holding her Basic ATK. In this mode, Zhu Yuan starts consuming all the Shotshells she has collected. To get more Shotshells (up to 9), you can do the following:

Having a weapon that directly increases Zhu Yuan’s Crit Rate and Crit DMG by 15% and 48% respectively is exactly what Zhu Yuan is looking for. Riot Suppressor Mark VI is, unsurprisingly, Zhu Yuan’s Signature Weapon, which can also increase her Skill DMG by 35% when she deals Ether DMG.

On the other hand, you can go with Steel Cushion or The Brimstone as other 5-star options in ZZZ for Zhu Yuan. Steel Cushion grants some Crit Rate and DMG% while The Brimstone can maximize her ATK.

The best 4-star weapons for Zhu Yuan in Zenless Zone Zero are Cannon Rotor, Street Superstar, and Starlight Engine. Cannon Rotor is great since it increases Zhu Yuan’s Crit Rate while increasing her ATK; sadly, this W-Engine is only obtainable from the Battle Pass. Street Superstar and Starlight Engine are more suitable as F2P W-Engine for Zhu Yuan in Zenless Zone Zero.

Since the game still doesn’t offer many DD options, build Zhu Yuan with 4pc of Chaotic Metal to maximize her Ether DMG. As for the 2pc left, Zhu Yuan is an Attack character who delivers when she can Crit properly. So, having 2pc of Woodpecker Electro automatically grants Zhu Yuan an extra 8% Crit Rate for her stats. If this combination is unavailable, players can also swap the two to make 4pc Woodpecker Electro + 2pc Chaotic Metal instead.
