Seth Lowell is the sole Defender and A-Rank unit in the PubSec faction in Zenless Zone Zero, and while he isn't as flashy as his colleagues, he's already cemented his place as one of the best Defender/Support hybrids in the game.

Players who enjoy triggering status effects have a lot to be excited about regarding Seth's kit. He's one of the few characters who can directly buff Anomaly Proficiency in ZZZ, and when paired with a certain Rat Thiren, Seth will help you clear even the hardest of game modes with relative ease. Here are some of the best teams you can use with this character.

Best Teams For Seth In Zenless Zone Zero

Seth is an Electric Defender, and while he can deal decent damage, his main role is to provide shields and buff the Anomaly Proficiency of his team. He's a universal character, much like Ben Bigger in ZZZ, but he is best used for supporting an Anomaly team.

Seth's Playstyle, Explained

Like all other members of the Criminal Investigation Special Response Team, Seth has a meter called Resolve, which he can expend to empower his Basic Attack to gain a shield, deal more damage, and enable a Quick Assist. If you use a Quick Assist enabled by his Basic Attack or Assist Follow-Up, the new on-field character will get a Shield of Firm Resolve, which absorbs damage based on Seth's ATK and grants an Anomaly Proficiency bonus.

His Core Skill, which is enabled whenever he's with an agent of the same attribute or faction, causes his Chain Attacks or the finishing blows of his enhanced Basic Attack to reduce the Anomaly Build-up RES of enemies, making Attribute Anomaly effects trigger more quickly.

ZZZ Seth And Jane Teams

Seth is arguably the premier Defender/Support unit for some of the best Jane teams in the game. These two alone can yield some impressive results throughout all forms of content in the game, though results might vary in ZZZ's Shiyu Defense mode according to what enemy you're facing and which character you decide to use for your third slot. Some full team examples include:

  • Jane + Seth + Grace
    • This team is built around triggering Disorder. Use Jane as your main on-field unit and Grace as your Sub-DPS.
  • Jane + Seth + Qingyi
    • This team takes more time before it can deal its optimal damage, but when it does come online, Jane will be able to nuke targets with the buff from Seth and the debuff from Qingyi.
  • Jane + Seth + Nekomata
    • Nekomata benefits greatly from Assault procs, and since most of her damage comes from her EX Special, she can serve as a burst-oriented Sub-DPS to complement Jane and Seth.
  • Jane + Seth + Lucy
    • Lucy can massively increase the team's damage output while dealing good DPS from off-field. Use this if you want to use Jane as a hypercarry.

No Jane? No Problem

Players can get a lot of value out of Seth even without Jane, provided they play around Attribute Anomalies in ZZZ. Seth's synergy isn't necessarily limited to Anomaly characters either, as most DPS characters also benefit from Anomaly procs.

  • Anton + Seth + Grace/Anby
    • Anton heavily relies on damaging Shocked units to maximize his damage. Seth can help either Grace or Anby build Shock up faster thanks to the Anomaly RES debuff he applies from his Core Skill.
  • Soldier 11 + Seth + Qingyi
    • Soldier 11 is surprisingly good at applying Burn, which is great since her main Drive Disc gives her more Crit Rate versus Burning targets. While this isn't the most ideal setup, it still works quite well in modes like ZZZ's Hollow Zero.
  • Nekomata + Seth + Anby
    • Seth can help Nekomata trigger Assault procs more often by herself, allowing her to buff up her next EX Special's damage.
