A-Rank characters in Zenless Zone Zero are more than capable of holding their own during combat. For example, as of version 1.2, there six five new S-Rank characters, but only one A-Rank Agent. Nevertheless, the addition of Seth in Zenless Zone Zero is thoroughly welcomed since he's a simple, easy-to-use character who plays a large role in the Anomaly damage-dealing meta. 10 Billy
Clouded By Other Physical Agents
Billy is underwhelming regarding his DMG and utility in Zenless Zone Zero. While his ranged play style helps him move freely and avoid enemies’ hits, Billy still suffers to deliver DMG and build Daze and Anomaly. Not only that, but Billy also fights for the same spot against three other Attack Physical characters, and one of them is a 5-star unit in Zenless Zone Zero.
9 Anton
Not Effective With His Kit
Anton also suffers as an Electric Attack unit in Zenless Zone Zero. Most of his attacks are single targets, and he can’t work without someone on the team constantly triggering Shock.
The problem here is that the only one who can do that is Grace, but she deals more DMG when she’s on the field, which eliminates the idea of having Anton in the first place.
8 Corin
Pairs Well With Stun Characters
Basically, all the 4-star Attack characters are suffering, since 5-star units are performing much better, and that’s true for Corin as well. While Corin self-buffs herself from multiple sources, she still can’t reach the level of other 5-star units. Corin can still do a decent amount of DMG if enemies are stunned, and she lands all of her chainsaw slashes.
7 Ben
Excels In Both Defense And Offense
In version 1.0, Ben was the only Defense character in Zenless Zone Zero. While his abilities revolve around defensively Supporting his team, like shielding them, he can also do a decent amount of DMG among many other things. Ben is decent at building up Daze and Fire Anomaly too. All these things together make Ben valuable as a unit who is viable to do anything in ZZZ. Sadly, compared to Seth or Caesar, Ben doesn't offer enough value to be relevant in the meta.
6 Anby
Does Her Job As A Stun Agent
Anby works perfectly in quick-swap teams where she constantly gets in and out of combat to build up enemies’ Daze. As a Stun character, she’s quick to Stun enemies and can be very helpful for other Electric units like Grace or Anton.
Zenless Zone Zero: Nicole Character And Build Guide
Nicole is a solid Support unit with plenty of things to bring to the table, making her one of the best starting characters in Zenless Zone Zero.
Anby’s best DMG comes from her EX Special Attacks, which also build up Daze better than her other attacks in her kit. All in all, Anby is not easy to master in ZZZ, but once you do master her playstyle, she’s a useful Stun unit to have, especially for new or F2P players.
5 Piper
Anomaly & Disorder
Piper is great at triggering Assault in Zenless Zone Zero, making her the top candidate if players are looking to build up Anomaly. For instance, if you trigger Shock on enemies and then quickly follow it up with Piper’s Assault, you’re in for a lot of damage from Disorder and Piper’s Assault.

4 Lucy
ATK Buffer With Sub-DPS
Lucy is an amazing Support in Zenless Zone Zero. She has a variety of utilities within her kit, making her able to work in every possible team in ZZZ. First, Lucy can apply an ATK% buff to the entire team that stays for a while and scales with her ATK%. She can also summon three guard boars that keep attacking the enemies when she’s off-field. These boars scale with her ATK, Impact, and Crit, making them able to adapt to any direction you take when building Lucy in Zenless Zone Zero.
3 Seth
Easy Anomaly Proficiency
Seth was released along with Jane Doe as a Defense character. His primary role is to grant an Anomaly Proficiency buff, reduce the enemy's Anomaly Buildup RES, and provide a little shield for protection. Players can build Seth with supportive Drive Discs to further buff the team. His shield also scales with ATK, allowing him to be slightly more offensive.
To get buffs from Seth in ZZZ, players must trigger Quick Assist or Chain Attack with Basic Attack: Lightning Strike - Electrified or Assist Follow-Up: Public Security Ruling. This can be done swiftly with the following methods:
- When the Agent has his EX Special Attack ready, hold briefly then release to unleash Thunder Shield Rush - High Voltage and immediately fill his Resolve bar.
- Right after the move is done, hold his Basic Attack to trigger Lightning Strike - Electrified. This will trigger Quick Assist.
- Use the Quick Assist to switch to the previous Agent in the team.
2 Nicole
Ether Best Friend
Nicole has one of the best debuffs in ZZZ. Her Core Skill straight shreds enemies’ DEF by a whopping 40%, which can be insane with the right DPS. What makes her shine as a 4-star Support in Zenless Zone Zero is her additional ability to buff her team’s Ether DMG by 25% for a few seconds.
This works perfectly with any Ether DPS, like Zhu Yuan. As for her abilities’ short duration, it’s not a big deal since Nicole is a quick-swap unit who can constantly pull enemies into her Ether fields that she triggers with many of her attacks in ZZZ.
1 Soukaku
The Best Support For Top-Tier DPS
Just like Lucy, Soukaku is also one of the best Supports in ZZZ. However, unlike Lucy, Soukaku buffs are more directed towards a certain DPS. Her Core passive offers an ATK% buff to the next character taking the field after her, while her additional ability is an Ice DMG buff that benefits her DPS. While her buff is not as universal as Lucy's, she still can offer a lot more to specific characters than Lucy, which makes her a must-have when you’re building an Ice DPS in ZZZ.
