Through an official post on HoYolab, Zenless Zone Zero confirmed all the characters featured in Version 2.0. The update's first half will include Astra Yao's first rerun and Yixuan's debut banner. The latter is a new S-Rank Agent with the unique attribute Aura Ink, and she is also the first Rupture specialist in the game. This phase will also debut the A-Rank Agent Pan Yinhu, a Physical Defense unit. Phase 2 will feature Ju Fufu's debut and Caesar King's rerun. Ju Fufu is a new S-Rank Fire unit with a Stun attribute. All three upcoming characters come from Zenless Zone Zero's new map area, Waifei Peninsula, and will play key roles in the main story.

Players first met Ju Fufu in-game during Version 1.6 as an NPC, and her surprise appearance gave players a glimpse of what to expect from Zenless Zone Zero's next adventure. However, the most anticipated character of Version 2.0 is Yixuan, who made her in-game debut during the 1.7 main storyline. She is shown as an extremely powerful Agent, and players expect her to be the next biggest damage-dealer. Zenless Zone Zero is also adding a skin for Yixuan through the in-game store at a limited discount during the 2.0 update.

Zenless Zone Zero Version 2.0 is set for release on June 6, marking the RPG's Xbox debut in the process. While players wait for the patch, they can still pull for Zenless Zone Zero's Hugo Vlad, an S-Rank DPS that has proven very useful in multiple team compositions.
