At the time, some fans assumed it was a classic April Fool's jest, which is common practice in the video game industry, while others considered it a not-so-subtle foreshadowing of a new console launch. A few days later, Zenless Zone Zero confirmed its release on Xbox Series X/S for June alongside Version 2.0. HoYoverse announced that Game Pass Ultimate subscribers would enjoy Xbox Cloud Gaming compatibility as well as some additional in-game rewards. Community leaker Firefly has teased that Xbox players would receive a Bangboo named "Xboo" in Zenless Zone Zero Version 2.0, the same S-Rank Bangboo teased by HoYoverse on April 1. Xboo has the Xbox logo and color palette on its body and remote control buttons on its ears. According to the leak, the reward is exclusive to Xbox users, and players on different platforms may not be able to claim Xboo. This detail disappointed some fans who have been playing Zenless Zone Zero on mobile, PC, and PS5 since day one. The report about the Xbox Bangboo comes after some leaks hinted at Zenless Zone Zero's anniversary rewards, which could include a free S-Rank Agent for all players. Version 2.0 is expected to arrive on June 4.
