Zenless Zone Zero is an action-packed urban fantasy game set in the futuristic city of New Eridu. Players step into the shoes of a "Proxy," guiding their team of agents through various missions and combat scenarios against formidable enemies and bosses. The game features a blend of intense combat, strategic team building, and an immersive storyline.
Zenless Zone Zero: All 4-Star Characters, Ranked (A-Rank Agents)
A-Rank Agents in Zenless Zone Zero can be excellent characters in ZZZ combat if players know which one is worth investing in.
Combat in Zenless Zone Zero are among the game's most action-packed experiences, demanding not only powerful characters but also strategic planning and adept execution. Especially when it comes to challenging bosses, players will notice that they will need to adapt their tactics and team composition accordingly. Success in these encounters often hinges on understanding the boss's mechanics, exploiting attribute weaknesses, and timing abilities to maximize damage while minimizing risk. One of the most unique and challenging boss battles in Zenless Zone Zero so far is the Twin Marionettes fight, which is also one of the Notorious Hunt weekly bosses that players will need to defeat to upgrade skills of characters like Soukaku or Lycaon.
How to Unlock Twin Marionettes
Unlike the other two bosses, which become available upon unlocking Notorious Hunt, players will need to improve their Intra-Knot Level further to unlock this weekly boss battle. First, players must defeat this boss at the end of Chapter 3 of the Main Quest, meaning they need to be at least level 36 before proceeding. Once unlocked, this boss will be accessible for other content, such as Notorious Hunt. Players will also encounter this battle in various activities like Combat Rally missions and Hollow Zero.
Strategy to Defeat Twin Marionettes
Twin Marionettes are a pair of enemies weak to Ice and Ether that need to be defeated simultaneously or within a close timeframe; otherwise, the defeated one will revive with half HP. Therefore, it's recommended that players group these enemies close together to inflict similar amounts of damage at the same time. Their high mobility can make this grouping challenging, but they generally stay close to each other. If players encounter difficulties in grouping them or if strong attacks do not hit both enemies simultaneously, it’s advisable to focus on the one with higher HP until their health percentages are roughly equal. Staggering them consecutively and setting up for back-to-back chain attacks is the most effective strategy to deal with them swiftly.
Zenless Zone Zero: All Ascension Materials (& How to Get Them)
If you want to level up your squad in Zenless Zone Zero quickly, you will need Ascension Materials; here’s how to get them.
In comparison to other fights, players will need to be much more precise with their dodge timings when combatting Twin Marionettes, as these enemies can hit quite hard, and many of their attacks cannot be simply brute-forced once they enter frenzy mode. This will also be indicated by the agents in combat, as they are entering the frenzy. During frenzy mode, they perform a series of attacks (indicated in purple) that prevent characters from staying too close while also requiring precise dodging. After a wave of these attacks, the frenzy ends, allowing players to attack the enemies again. If players have invested well in their teams and time their actions correctly, it is possible to interrupt some instances of the frenzy mode before the enemies start casting it, making the fight more manageable. By carefully managing their positioning, dodging effectively, and executing well-timed attacks, players can overcome the Twin Marionettes and their challenging mechanics.
Considering their weaknesses, premium characters like Ellen or Zhu Yuan are recommended for this battle, with stunner options like Lycaon being the best choice. However, if players don't have access to these characters, it is still advisable to use F2P characters like Soukaku as support while bringing the best available stunner and DPS characters from each player's roster.
In Notorious Hunt mode, players will need to battle another elite enemy before facing Twin Marionettes. It's recommended that players use this initial boss to their advantage by setting their characters up with buffs. However, players should avoid using their Ultimates on this boss if they generate enough energy. Instead, they should wait until the Twin Marionettes spawn to unleash significant damage right away.
