Nintendo may have unofficially confirmed DLC for The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom as per its official listing. While the highly anticipated Nintendo exclusive is still months away from release, the The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom store page points to seemingly confirmed DLC for the upcoming title.

Tears of the Kingdom follows a few years since the release of the massively popular The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. With a scheduled launch date for May 12, Nintendo has already teased fans on what to expect from Tears of the Kingdom when it comes to the visuals and gameplay mechanics. Of course, it will be a while until players will get to experience how far the overarching story will progress beyond Breath of the Wild, the latest update indicates Nintendo may have more unannounced content in the works.

According to the upcoming game's website listing, players can earn what the company calls Nintendo Points when pre-ordering Tears of the Kingdom. Interestingly, it states that these Nintendo Points can be used to "buy more games and DLC." At the bottom of the site page, it further mentions "full version of game required to use DLC. Sold separately." Nintendo itself is yet to officially confirm any DLC for the upcoming title, but it may not be surprising considering the same text was seen on the store page back when Breath of the Wild announced multiple expansions.

While the Mario maker will unlikely offer any updates on the Tears of the Kingdom DLC anytime soon, fans have already built expectations on possible upgraded gameplay along with more comprehensive content, thanks in part to the $70 price tag of the base game. Fortunately, there already seem to be glimpses of this, particularly considering how Tears of the Kingdom's map could match the scale of Elden Ring, hinting at more expansive content in the game.

Tears of the Kingdom comes at an interesting time for Nintendo, as the company recently revealed that the Nintendo Switch outsold the PS4 console with 122.55 million total units, placing it as the third best-selling console of all time. Coincidentally, it's also rumored that the company may be getting ready to launch the Switch 2. In any case, the idea that Nintendo may be prepping for more content expansions for The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom will be welcome news for many fans. As to when Nintendo unveil more details about the upcoming title, time will tell.

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom will be released on May 12, 2023, for the Nintendo Switch.
