In Tears of the Kingdom, the disappearance of Princess Zelda is an unsurprisingly hot topic across Hyrule. As part of the Potential Princess Sightings quest series, from which Link can earn the Froggy Armor set, Link teams up with Penn, a Rito investigative journalist who scours Hyrule’s local stables for chatter about the Princesses’ whereabouts. At each stable, Link can reconvene with Penn, who will share the latest scoop via a unique quest.

Typically, Penn can be easily located at each stable, often standing outside nearby and exchanging ideas with himself. However, at Dueling Peaks Stable, Penn can be a bit trickier to track down. Here’s where players can find Penn and start the quest “Princess Zelda Kidnapped?!” At Dueling Peaks Stable in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.

Penn’s Location at Dueling Peaks Stable

Dueling Peaks Stable is located at coordinates (1748, -1921, 0010), on the eastern side of its namesake mountains and directly northwest of the Rabella Wetlands Skyview Tower. If the player has discovered the Eshos Shrine, they can fast travel to this location and will arrive just west of the stable. This is also the easiest and fastest method of reaching Penn at Dueling Peaks Stable.

Penn can be found on the roof of the Dueling Peaks Stable, atop the tower’s horse-shaped head, at coordinates (1758, -1925, 0040). If the player has fast traveled to Eshos Shrine, they will arrive at a high enough cliff that they can easily jump and glide west, down to the stable’s roof to land and meet up with Penn.

Alternatively, if the player has not yet discovered this shrine and has arrived at the stable on foot, they will instead need to get to the top of the roof from the ground. To reach Penn atop the Dueling Peaks Stable, the player can do either of the following:

Climb The Stable & Use Ascend

Head to the eastern side of the stable, where the horses are boarded and jump atop the bales of hay behind them onto the tent roof above the horses. The player can also get on top of the stable by climbing the nearby crates. Climb to the tented roof of the stable, then position beneath the head of the horse-head tower and use the Ascend ability to reach the top and find Penn.

Create An Updraft & Glide

The player can also reach the top of the Dueling Peaks Stable by causing an updraft allowing them to use the paraglider to get the height necessary to reach Penn. To do so, the player can select a Hylian Pine Cone from their inventory and drop it into the fire of a nearby cooking pot.

The player will want to cause the pine cone to ignite rather than cook it, so they will likely need to drop the material nearby then hit it with a melee weapon to knock it into the fire. Upon doing so, a large updraft will form, and the player can jump into it, pull out the paraglider, and glide up to Penn’s location.

Once the player has reached Penn, they can speak with him to start the quest “Princess Zelda Kidnapped?!”

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is available for the Nintendo Switch.
