The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is the sequel to 2017's Game of the Year winner, Breath of the Wild. Following in the footsteps of its predecessor, the action-adventure game received a highly positive reception and sold several million units after coming out in 2023. In fact, the Nintendo-exclusive title even contributed heavily to moving Switch consoles off shelves around the time of its launch. A popular aspect of the latest Zelda game is protagonist Link's ability to use the Zonai devices, in combination with powers like Ultrahand, to construct various types of machines. One Tears of the Kingdom player made the most of this feature and built an impressive firefighting machine that has been wowing the game's community recently.

On Reddit, a user named Ultrababouin shared a video of their firefighting airplane gliding across the skies of Tears of the Kingdom's Hyrule. In the clip, a barebones airplane powered by neon-lit turbines can be seen offloading liters of water to put out a fire on the beach. The airplane can also stay afloat on the surface of the water as the player is shown landing the plane in the sea without an issue. Giving glimpses of their creation's aviation powers, the player can be seen flying the plane under different weather conditions in the video, ranging from clear skies to thunderstorms.

Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom Player Showcases Their Firefighting Airplane

In one of their replies, the player talked about the inner workings of their creation and revealed that the aircraft needs to scoop water to refill its reserves before using the attached fire hydrants again. They use a spring to choose when to take out the hydrants and when to retract them. Moreover, they said that the airplane was inspired by the Canadair firefighting airplane, marking another instance where a real-world aircraft received its Tears of the Kingdom counterpart. In the comments, several users commended the player's skill, with one of them saying, "This looks amazing."

The airplane built by the Tears of the Kingdom player is yet another example of how the game allows the application of creativity to build exciting contraptions. Given that there are numerous resources to be used for such in-game projects, the scope of what players can construct in Tears of the Kingdom is virtually limitless. With The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom coming later this year, fans can get ready to return to Hyrule for another adventure.
