Even an entire month after release, players are continuing to explore and make new discoveries in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. Like its predecessor, The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom features numerous armor sets for players to collect and enhance their journey. For those players searching for a way to improve in combat, one set in particular should be at the top of their list to find.
While most outfits and armor pieces in Tears of the Kingdom will grant Link special abilities, players can take one it one step further by collecting each piece in a set. Armor set bonuses in TotK range from simple defense perks all the way to unique abilities. Obtaining all the armor in a set is not without its difficulties; for armor with the best bonuses, players are usually required to overcome a series of obstacles to earn each piece. The set of Fierce Deity Armor is no different, and players will need to follow the clues of the legendary bandit Misko to receive one of the most powerful combat bonuses in the game.
Tears of the Kingdom's Fierce Deity Armor is a Must-Have
The Fierce Deity Armor makes its return to grant players significant buffs to their combat abilities. In Breath of the Wild, this armor set was exclusively locked behind the Majora's Mask Link amiibo, but in Tears of the Kingdom, players can hunt down the pieces within in the game. Based on one of Link's many masks in Majora's Mask, each piece of the Fierce Deity Armor in TotK will increase the player's attack power by one level.
Including buffs from food or elixirs, players can boost Link's attack power in TotK up to three times, granting an increase of 20%, 30%, and 50% at each level, respectively. However, wearing all three pieces of the Fierce Diety Armor will max out Link's attack power, freeing up the player to use consumables for other stats such as defense or movement speed.
The Fierce Deity Armor's Set Bonus in Tears of the Kingdom
In addition to the whopping 1.5x damage increase (without factoring in any weapon perks), players can improve their combat even more by upgrading the pieces. After obtaining the Fierce Deity Armor in Tears of the Kingdom, each of the pieces can be taken to one of the game's Great Fairy Fountains. In exchange for materials and rupees, the Great Fairy will enhance Link's armor and raise its defensive power up to a maximum of 20 for each piece in the set.
Some armor sets in Tears of the Kingdom will also gain a new set bonus after all pieces have been upgraded twice. For the Fierce Deity Armor, the Great Fairy will bestow the Charge Atk. Stamina Up set bonus that will cut the stamina usage by all charged weapon attacks in half. It also cuts in half the stamina used while firing arrows mid-air during "bullet time". With this set bonus, players can deal several powerful blows to an enemy in a row without completely draining Link's stamina and becoming vulnerable during the recovery period.
As they progress through the game, players finding themselves in more difficult combat situations should plan to get their hands on this armor set as soon as possible through amiibo or the Misko's Cave of Chests side quest in TotK. While a lot of combat boils down to player preference and ability, the Fierce Diety Armor is an incredibly powerful and well-rounded combat set for any player to have in their toolbox.
