While playing The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, one player pulled off an incredible trick shot with a boomerang. With Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom getting a Nintendo Switch 2 Edition, many players have returned to the 2023 game and captured some impressive gameplay moments.

As the sequel to the highly successful Breath of the Wild, Tears of the Kingdom had the challenge of standing out from its predecessor. With this in mind, Nintendo looked to evolve the gameplay formula by adding new abilities for Link, such as Ultrahand and Fuse. While the former could be used to build impressive contraptions, the latter allowed objects to be combined to create more formidable weapons. Unsurprisingly, players have used these new abilities to create some stunning highlights.

In a post on Reddit, a user known as FirefighterIcy9879 shared one of these incredible highlights involving a boomerang. As seen in the clip, the player stood on Courage Island overlooking a sleeping Hinox below. Seeing the opportunity to pull off a trick shot, they threw their boomerang away from them and proceeded to jump off the island. The Tears of the Kingdom player dove toward the ground and then fired a fused arrow at the sleeping enemy. Hitting a critical shot, they then executed a btb to fly back into the air and watch as their boomerang descended toward the Hinox. After a moment, the weapon, which had a bomb attached to it, hit the enemy and exploded.

Since sharing the impressive play, many in the Tears of the Kingdom subreddit have taken notice. So far, the post has gained over 4K upvotes, with users complimenting FirefighterIcy9879 and pointing out the skill necessary to pull off the trick shot. It is worth noting that the player has shared many other incredible trick shots on their Reddit page in the past, revealing the creativity offered in Tears of the Kingdom’s combat.

It is impressive to see players continue to share eye-catching highlights in Tears of the Kingdom more than two years after its release. With the enhancements made in the Nintendo Switch 2 Edition of Tears of the Kingdom, players like FirefighterIcy9879 will likely pull off even more challenging trick shots. Thanks to the new Switch 2 version, the game can run at 60 FPS, offering more responsive gameplay.

Regardless of whether players are pulling off trick shots or simply exploring Hyrule, now is seemingly an exciting time to be a Zelda fan. In addition to the Switch 2 Editions of Tears of the Kingdom and Breath of the Wild, NSO + Expansion Pack added The Wind Waker to its catalog, offering a classic GameCube experience for series fans.
