Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom - All Side Quests
Here are all 50 side quests and their rewards in Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom.
How to Get Monster Stones in Echoes of Wisdom
Monster Stone Drops:
The primary method of obtaining Monster Stones in Echoes of Wisdom is through defeating monsters and other enemies. They are considered a rare drop, so you should not expect them to be regularly rewarded. Currently, there are no monsters that have a significantly better chance of dropping Monster Stones. It is possible that higher level enemies provide a slightly higher chance to drop Monster Stones, but this may only be a situational coincidence.
There is a way to improve your chances of getting Monster Stones from enemies, simply by raising the chances for all enemy drops. The Survery Scope increases the likliehood of finding all materials, and the upgraded version of this accessory, the Survey Binoculars, increase the drop rates even more. Bith of these items are given as rewards during the "Recipes, Please!" Side quest. The Scope is awarded after completing 10 new recipes, and the Binoculars are awarded after completing 30 new recipes and finishing the quest.
Unlike other monster parts, Monster Stones cannot be used in Smoothies or Potions. This does not change at any point in the game, as Monster Stones will have an importanr use after Echoes of Wisdom's midpoint.
Quest and Chest Rewards:
The second most common way you will find Monster Stones in Echoes of Wisdom is through side-quest rewards and treasure chests. There are four quests that offer Monster Stones as rewards:
- Stamp Rally – completing fourth Stamp Card earns 5 Monster Stones.
- Slumber Dojo – Complete Moblins' Revenge in under 30 seconds (X3), Complete The Final Titans' Gathering (x5).
- "Precious Treasure" – after completing the Jabul Ruins, you'll find this quest on the stone ring atop Sea Zora Village. Bring the Zora a treasure chest and you'll get three Monster Stones.
- "The Mythical Deku Snak e" – after completing the Faron Temple, speak to the Deku Scrub outside the Smoothie Shop in Faron Wetlands. You'll earn two Monster Stones for completing.
Amiibo Rewards:
It is possible to receive Monster Stones as a reward for scanning amiibo in Echoes of Wisdom. You can only use amiibo three times a day, and Monster Stones are extremely rare, so this is not a reliable method. Still, it is one possibility.
How to Use Monster Stones in Echoes of Wisdom
Monster Stones have one primary use in Echoes of Wisdom: repairing Automatons at Dampé Studio.
How to Repair Automatons in Echoes of Wisdom:
Automatons can be unlocked about halfway through Echoes of Wisdom. Unlike Echoes, Automatons are mechanical inventions of Dampé, and can be damaged to the point where they will no longer function without repair. When that happens, you must return to Dampé Studio at the northern end of Eastern Hyrule Field.
Speak to Dampé inside his studio, and you'll see the option for Automaton repairs. Selecting this option will bring up a menu that displays which Automatons are in need of repair. You do not have to wait until an Automaton is compeltely broken to repair it. If you use Automatons, then your menu will likely feature Automatons in various states of disrepair.
As you'll see below each Automaton, there is a rupee price, and a Monster Stone price. This is what Monster Stones are used for. You will save yourself a vertiable fortune by collecting and using Monster Stones instead of rupees to repair Automatons.
Do not sell Monster Stones. You will only receive 5 rupees each, making them far more valuable to use for Automaton repairs.
