Mango Rush Minigame Location & Overview

A Way To Get Echoes of Wisdom Ingredients & Other Materials

Zelda Echoes of Wisdom Mango Rush Minigame Location Oasis Gerudo Desert

The Mango Rush minigame is located in the Tough Mango Lab at the northern side of the Oasis in Gerudo Desert. You should find this location just northeast of the Gerudo Desert Rift that appears after completing the Suthorn Ruins dungeon, about a minute's walk left from the entrance to Gerudo Desert from Lueberry's house.

In this minigame, Zelda is tasked with harvesting Tough Mangos from a garden beneath the Tough Mango Lab. If you harvest enough to meet the requirement, you will earn a special reward, get to keep some Tough Mangos for making Smoothies, and progress to the next difficulty.

You can access this minigame as soon as you are able to enter the Gerudo Desert. However, you may want to wait to push through to the highest difficulty until later in the game, as the Frog Ring accessory is invaluable in helping speed Zelda up to collect enough Mangos to win each round.

Best Mango Rush Route & Minigame Strategies

In the Mango Rush minigame, Echoes of Wisdom players have a minute to collect Tough Mangos that sprout from spots in the ground. You can only collect Tough Mangos by spinning into them once they have sprouted.

This guide to the Gerudo Sanctum dungeon in Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom explains step-by-step how to complete this relatively complex dungeon.

You can see where the next Tough Mango batch will spawn as each Mango is pre-empted by a rumbling dirt animation in the spot where it will appear. They disappear after a few seconds though, usually with the appearance of the next wave or two, so you must quickly get from spot to spot to harvest enough to win the Mango Rush minigame in Echoes of Wisdom.

Equip the Frog Ring, which can be found at the end of the Hyrule Castle dungeon, to be able to boost your normal Jump Height to make it over the two ledges on the top-left and top-right of the room easily. If you do not have the Frog Ring, quickly summon two Trampolines at either side of the starting spot to quickly get up to these ledges when Mangos spawn there.

There are three difficulties in the Mango Rush minigame Echoes of Wisdom can progress through. Each difficulty raises the Mango requirement to progress (or earn rewards in Ultimate difficulty).

  • Standard Seeds are the default
  • Vibrant Seeds unlock once you complete the Standard requirement
  • Ultimate Seeds unlock once Vibrant Seeds have been completed.

In the Vibrant and Ultimate difficulties there are obstacles to avoid. Sharp Thorns begin to spawn in Vibrant difficulty, and Bomb Flowers spawn when on Ultimate difficulty too.

Though there are more things to avoid as you progress, the strategy remains essentially the same: mash your spin button to move faster and gather Mangos while you move, and do your best to get to each new Mango spot before they spawn.

You just have to use a little bit more finesse in the higher difficulties – touching the Thorns directly will damage Zelda, but spinning near a Bomb will make it explode.

Normal Seeds

  • Only Tough Mangos will spawn
  • Requirement To Continue: 40 Mangos

Mango Rush Rewards in Echoes of Wisdom

Completing the Mango Rush minigame is important because you get Tough Mangos with each successful attempt, and some very useful rewards at higher difficulties.

  • Standard Seeds can reward 3 to 5 Mangos if successful
  • Vibrant Seeds will reward the Golden Fan on your first clear, 5 to 8 Mangos, and 3 Might Crystals if successful
  • Ultimate Seeds will reward the Dancing Outfit on your first clear, a Heart Piece on your second clear, and 8 to 12 Mangos if successful

The Golden Fan is the first unique Mango Rush minigame reward Echoes of Wisdom players can earn for completing the Vibrant difficulty. This fan is used in a quest that unlocks after you meet Dampé. At this difficulty, you will also get three Might Crystals to upgrade your Swordfighter Form with at Lueberry's.

For completing the Ultimate Mango Rush minigame the first time, you will get a Dancer's Set. This Outfit enhances the size of Zelda's spin attack, which makes subsequent attempts at the Mango Rush minigame significantly easier.

By completing Ultimate difficulty twice, you will get a Heart Piece. You will also get a bounty of Mangos if you successfully beat this difficulty in any attempt after.
