The Faron Wetlands in Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom are home to the Deku Scrubs, a type of Legend of Zelda species that first appeared in Ocarina of Time. Naturally, their home, Scrubton, is in danger of being consumed by a giant rift that appeared in their village. After you've taken care of this rift, you can start accepting various side quests in Faron Wetlands. "Looking for Bempu" features a game of hide-and-seek with a Deku named... Bempu. It's an easy task with a somewhat-useful reward, so here's how you can find each of their hiding spots in Echoes of Wisdom.
Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom - How To Get Membership Card
To get a Membership Card, Echoes of Wisdom players simply need to clear a rift... Then break out of prison without any Echoes.
Looking for Bempu Walkthrough
Where is Bempu Hiding?
Speak to Bempu and their friend, who are standing southwest from the Scrubton Jail that Zelda was locked in during "A Rift in the Faron Wetlands" story quest. You should see a red side quest marker ("Friendly warning!") over Bempu's head. If it's not appearing, then that means you haven't cleared the rift in the Sweet Spot/obtained Farore's Sanction. Bempu and their friend are arguing, and Zelda is unfortunate enough to be pulled into their game of tag. If you can find Bempu, they'll stop tormenting their friend.
Bempu gives you four hints as to where they can be found, revealing one for each hiding spot you uncover. When you find Bempu, use Tri's Bind Ability (X-button) to pull them from the ground. You can identify Bempu by their red "mohawk" styled leaves.
The list of hints Bempu gives you are:
- "Friendly hint! You'll find me near the trendiest shop in town."
- "Friendly hint! You'll find me near a lake that's a symbol of love!"
- "Friendly hint! You'll find me between four stone siblings!"
- "Friendly hint! You'll find me near a home that used to be covered in dark thorns!"
All Bempu Locations
The "trendiest shop in town" refers to the Smoothie Shop in Scrubton. Bempu is hiding in the ground a few feet in front of the store.
"A lake that's a symbol of love" should be another easy one. This is the heart-shaped lake where you saved the Deku couple from the rift. If you look to the northwestern corner of the heart-shaped lake, you'll find Bempu in the dirt.
The "four stone siblings" is a bit trickier, if only because it's more "vague." If you zoom in on the map, you can find four "circles" that indicate ruins in the northern half of Faron Wetlands. Bempu is buried in the middle of the platform with the four pillars. To reach Bempu, head west from the Sweet Spot, and the path will eventually curve to the hiding spot.
Finally, the "home that used to be covered in dark thorns" refers to Blossu's house. This was the Deku Scrub with the rafflesia "hat" and also the same location where Zelda and Tri were arrested for getting rid of the rift. Bempu is hiding a few feet away from the Waypoint statue outside Blossu's house.
Looking for Bempu Reward
Fairy Fragrance vs. Fairy Flower
After uprooting Bempu for the fourth time, they'll apologize to their friend. As a reward for helping them, you'll receive a Fairy Fragrance Accessory. Wearing this will increase the likelihood of finding fairies when cutting grass/plants. It's useful if you need to stock up the Fairy Bottles or if you're low on health and don't want to use a Bed Echo or drink a smoothie. It's a stronger version of the Fairy Flower Accessory, which you may or may not have by the time you complete "Looking for Bempu."
