There are a few quests in The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom that function as part of a larger quest chain, with later parts unlocking as you complete earlier requirements. Early in the game, you can find a ruin on the way to the Jabul Waters region that is home to one such quest.
Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom - The Rain-Making Monster Quest Guide
To find a Rain-Making Monster for the eponymous Echoes of Wisdom quest, you don't have to travel too far from Scrubton.
At the Eastern Ruin, players learn that a voice within has been calling out the phase "Let's Play A Game", and it's up to Zelda to figure out where the voice is coming from. This guide to the Let's Play A Game quest in Echoes of Wisdom goes over how to start this quest, a full walkthrough of the Eastern Ruins and Smog boss, and the rewards you can expect from this great early-game side quest.
Echoes of Wisdom Let's Play A Game Quest Location
To start the Let's Play A Game quest in Echoes of Wisdom, head towards the Jabul Waters from Hyrule Field, but turn north off the road when the path begins to wind towards Lake Hylia. From Seesyde Village, just head west. You should find a location called the Eastern Ruins just to the west of Seesyde Village and south from Dampe's location.
The ruins have lots of enemies outside, like Moblins and Boarblins, but you can run past these or stop for their Echoes (if not collected) on your way up.
You can also enter this area without encountering any enemies by using Echoes to scale the cliffs and ruin walls on its east side.
When you reach the top, you will meet an archaeologist named Sago, who wants to do research in the temple ahead, but keeps hearing a voice saying "Let's Play A Game" from within. Talk to Sago to pick up the Echoes of Wisdom Let's Play A Game Quest, and head inside to find the source of this voice.

Get Through The Ruins To Fight The Recurring Smog Boss
After entering the Eastern Ruin, you will see two Spark enemies hugging the two pillars in the middle of the room. Sparks stick to walls and move alongside their sides, so if you place a Boulder echo (for example) in their path, they will re-route to follow the summoned object's sides. You can use this to adjust the pathing of Sparks and solve the dungeon's puzzles – or just get the Spark Echo.
Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom - How To Get Membership Card
To get a Membership Card, Echoes of Wisdom players simply need to clear a rift... Then break out of prison without any Echoes.
Use a Bombfish (or a regular Bomb, which can be acquired in the Eldin Volcano dungeon) to blow up these Sparks and gain the Spark Echo. This Echo is incredibly useful for activating triggers that require electricity, as you can skip puzzles entirely and just summon Sparks where needed.
Enter the first room to see a boulder in the middle of the room, blocks stretching to each of its two sides, and three Sparks moving around the room. Your goal in this room is to get three Sparks into the yellow box on the top-left of the room. Either use Echoes to redirect the existing Sparks' movement, or summon three Spark Echoes directly into the yellow box, then continue forth.
Enter the next room ahead to see two Sparks moving around the walls of the room and a yellow box in the upper top-left corner, above Zelda. There are two ways to solve this puzzle: summon a short Echo and stand on it, then summon the Spark Echo directly into the machine, or use your Bind skill to move the two Sparks in the room to the box.
Because you should have learned the Spark Echo in the entrance of the Eastern Temple, you can simply summon two directly into the yellow box to open the door forward.
In the next room, you can open the Treasure Chest to get some Rock Salt smoothie ingredients by using another Bomb or Bombfish to destroy the Sparks guarding it. Take the ladder on the left to enter the sidescrolling section of the Eastern Temple dungeon.
In this area, defeat the Sparks with the same Bomb method, and use a strong combat Echo to defeat (and learn) the Caromadillo Echo lvl 2 on the lower floor.
Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom - Precious Treasure Quest Guide
The Precious Treasure quest in Echoes of Wisdom can be solved by bringing an item located nearby to the quest giver.
Continue forward to get to a room with an underwater area, and either swim under to get a nice hoard of 50 Rupees from the chest, or just continue across the top to get to the exit.
Leave the underwater area, and go through the door to your north, to get to the final boss of the Eastern Temple and the course of the "Let's Play A Game" quest: Smog.
How To Beat Smog in Echoes of Wisdom
The Let's Play A Game quest final boss Smog takes the form of a giant electric cloud with horns and a huge eye. Like the Spark monsters, Smog clings to the sides of nearby objects to move, and thus you can predict its path and alter it with Echoes.
When the fight begins, take an Electricity Proof potion or smoothie, and activate Swordfigher Form. Slash at Smog a few times to initiate the first intermission phase. Smog will split into three smaller clouds and spread out around the room and continue to blast Zelda's location with electric bolts.
You cannot Bind to these clouds to move them, so instead, use Echoes to block off paths and force each Cloud to collide with another. When two Clouds get close enough they will combine and form a larger fragment of Smog. Your goal is to force all three Clouds to meet back together and reconstitute Smog's tangible, hittable form again.
Once you have combined all three pieces of Smog back together, turn on Swordfighter Form again and continue to damage it (while under the effects of a Lightning Proof potion, preferably). After a few more hits Smog will split up again, this time into five separate Clouds. Once again, use Echoes to re-adjust the pathing of each cloud to force them all back together.
Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom - The Zora Child's Fate Quest Guide
To complete The Zora Child's Fate quest in Echoes of Wisdom, Zelda must summon three different fish for the child's mum nearby.
Once you have re-formed Smog for the second time, summon a strong Echo and enable Swordfighter Form to take down the boss... But not quite for good. Smog will disappear after the fight, swearing to win the next fight, and indeed he does show up again in the Cotton Candy Hunt quest that begins in Scrubton once Let's Play A Game has been completed.
Lets Play A Game Quest Rewards
Once you beat Smog in the Let's Play A Game quest, the boss will drop a Heart Piece and a bunch of Rupees, as well as some Might Stones. You haven't defeated Smog for good, but for now, the Eastern Temple is free of this maligned monster.
Head back outside and talk to Sago to complete the Let's Play A Game quest. For your efforts, the archaeologist will give Zelda the Ancient Relic, an Accessory that slightly reduces damage when equipped. This is one of the best Echoes of Wisdom accessories until it is replaced by a better version of the same effect.
By completing this quest, you also unlock the next part of the quest chain: The Cotton Candy Hunt quest. Once you beat the Hyrule Castle dungeon, head to the Faron Wetlands in the southeast of the world map, and talk to a Scrub in Scrubton after sealing the Rift in the zone to learn about a Cotton Candy monster living nearby.
