How to Fly in Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom

The first step towards flying is creating a flying Echo in The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom, and there are many suitable options. Indeed, any winged Echo can facilitate flight, and players should look at the birds, bats, and moths that they have collected.

After summoning a flying Echo, Echoes of Wisdom players should approach the creature and press "A" to lift it. Notably, fans should try to grab onto their winged Echoes very quickly after creating one, as they will not be able to lift the creature after it gains some elevation.

Once the winged Echo is lifted, players have completed all the preparatory work that is required for flying, and they should simply run off any ledge to take flight. Fans should resist the urge to jump from the ledge, though, as pressing "B" will cause Zelda to release the Echo and put a premature end to things.

Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom Flying Tips

Players should now have a solid understanding of how to fly in The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom. That said, the flying mechanic has some quirks of which fans should be aware.

The first quirk is that winged Echoes will continually lose elevation once a flight has been initiated. This means that the flying mechanic is typically used to cross gaps and fly over obstacles, and it is not usually a tool for increasing Zelda's vertical position. Fortunately, there are a variety of Echos that are great at facilitating vertical movement, such as Water Blocks and Strandtulas.

There are vertical air streams that can be used to combat a flying Echo's elevation loss. Indeed, entering one of those air streams will send the Echo upward, and their presence generally indicates that the player should take flight in the area.

The other thing to know is that winged Echoes will drop Zelda after flying for approximately three seconds, and the size of the monster in Echoes of Wisdom does not seem to impact that duration. This limitation means that even if a player starts their flight at a very high elevation, and with a very large Echo, they will not be able to use the mechanic to cover vast distances.
