In just about every Legend of Zelda game, there is usually one (or more) Great Fairy for Lin- I mean, uh, the playable protagonist to gain some kind of boon from. For example in The Wind Waker, Great Fairies granted Wallet and item count upgrades. In Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom, you can get Clothing upgrades from Great Fairies.

The Great Fairy in Echoes of Wisdom does something no other Zelda fairy does: this Great Fairy grants Zelda the ability to equip more Accessories. By finding the Great Fairy location early, and by using her services whenever you have the Rupees, players can get max Accessories slots and even earn a nifty extra side quest from the Great Fairy herself.

What Does The Great Fairy Do In Echoes of Wisdom?

When you talk to the Great Fairy, she will offer to increase Zelda's Style, which in this case means increasing your total Accessory slots.

Though you can get some passive bonuses from Outfits, like the ability to talk to cats, Accessories provide some of the best passive combat bonuses in the game. And, with more slots, you will be able to equip more Accessories and take advantage of more bonuses at once.

You can refill your empty Fairy Bottles here with two Fairies that spawn on either side of the room each time you load in, too.

When you start Echoes of Wisdom, Zelda can only equip a single Accessory. But thanks to the Great Fairy system you can upgrade Accessory slots up to a maximum of five Accessories that can be equipped at once.

  • Upgrade Max Accessories to 2: 100 Rupees
  • Upgrade Max Accessories to 3: 300 Rupees
  • Upgrade Max Accessories to 4: 500 Rupees
  • Upgrade Max Accessories to 5: 1000 Rupees

In total, it costs 1900 Rupees to fully upgrade your Accessory slots to a maximum of 5 slots. After reaching the final Accessory upgrade, the Great Fairy will also offer Zelda a special quest that eventually rewards the Might Bell accessory, which indicates when she is near a Might Crystal upgrade material anywhere in the world.

The Great Fairy can be found after clearing the Suthorn Ruins dungeon at the end of the first area.

When offered to go to Gerudo Desert or Jabul Waters first, head to the Jabul Waters region , but make a detour south as soon as you reach the Lake Hylia region on the way.

You may run into an NPC on the beach on the shores of Lake Hylia who wonders where the Great Fairy has gone – but he doesn't realize quite how close he is.

In fact, the Great Fairy location in Echoes of Wisdom is right in in a cave on an island right in the middle of Lake Hylia. There is nothing blocking you from getting inside the cave on the island in the middle of the lake – just remember to touch the Waypoint just outside to quickly come back later on.
