The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is filled with different materials players will need to collect. Used in upgrading armor, cooking recipes, and for quests, Link will need to scour the whole of Hyrule's map to find them all.

One of the materials players will need is called Silent Princess, a flower thought to have gone extinct decades before. However, these hard-to-find flowers do pop up in a few places. They can be hard to track down unless a player has a good idea of where to start looking for them.

Silent Princesses have three uses in Breath of the Wild. These blue-and-white flowers can be cooked into a stealth-boosting dish, can be turned into dye at the Kochi Dye Shop in Hateno Village, and they are used to upgrade five different armor pieces. Where to Find Silent Princesses in Breath of the Wild

Silent Princesses are a pretty rare item. They are limited to spawning in only a handful of places, and then only about two or three at a time. Thankfully, players won't need too many of these flowers throughout their playthrough. Those who want to farm them for their stealth abilities or for loads of white dye, though, can find them in four main locations.

The Korok Forest

There are three Silent Princesses that always grow around the Master Sword pedestal in the Korok Forest. They are located in the same positions as the three white flowers in A Link to the Past's Master Sword Pedistal in the Lost Woods: one to the upper right of the pedestal and two to the upper left.

The Satori Mountains

There are around eight or nine Silent Princesses in the Satori Mountains area. Players can find several near the cherry blossom tree, several near the small pond to the southwest of the cherry blossom tree, and a few others scattered in between.

The Great Fairy Fountains

Each of the Great Fairy Fountains in Breath of the Wild spawns at least two of these rare blooms. Players just need to look behind the fountain for some of these white flowers.

Zelda's Study

In Hyrule Castle, there is a place where a single Silent Princess blooms: in the middle of the wreckage that used to be Zelda's study. Players can find this flower on the floor near a pile of rubble and some books that have fallen from the shelves.

How Often Do Silent Princesses Respawn?

Respawn rates vary depending on what kind of material players are waiting to grown back. While creatures always respawn during the Blood Moon, many plants, fruits, and trees don't regrow on the same clock. Blood Moons don't determine regrowth at all; instead, they follow the random revival algorithm. This algorithm follows several rules:

  • Once per minute, Breath of the Wild determines Link's location and respawns materials that are not within the same map grid as he is. There is a 1% chance for anything in not in his immediate area to respawn.
  • If players are in the Trial of the Sword or not in the main world, every item in the world has a 1% chance of being reset.
  • When Link is in the main world, all respawnable items in shrines and Trial of the Sword have a 1% chance of being reset.

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is available for the Nintendo Switch.
