In a brief interview at Gamescom, American film director Zack Snyder revealed that not only is he a huge fan of one of the most popular battle royale games on the market, Fortnite, but he also prefers using one skin in particular. Snyder made a noteworthy appearance at Gamescom in order to announce an upcoming online co-op RPG based on the world of his upcoming sci-fi Netflix film, Rebel Moon.
Zack Snyder is perhaps best known for his prominent role in directing action-packed superhero movies set in the DC Extended Universe, such as Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and Man of Steel. Snyder's visual style is characterized by his use of slow-motion speed-ramping shots, stylistic snap zooms, and monochromatic color schemes. Much to the dismay of his fans, Snyder halted his involvement in the DCEU after his sprawling cut of Justice League, leaving the planned Flashpoint reboot in permanent limbo.
In an interview conducted by IGN, Zack Snyder disclosed that he first got into Fortnite while trying the game out with his son. While Synder’s son didn't end up enjoying the frenetic fast-paced action of the Epic Games battle royale title, Snyder himself immediately took a liking to it. When asked what his favorite Fortnite playable character is, Snyder quickly confessed that he mains a Ricky & Morty-themed skin, Mr. Meeseeks, a tall and slender blue creature with a large bulbous head popular in the Rick & Morty series.
It was also revealed to the American film producer’s fans that his favorite Fortnite mode is the no-build mode, which was first released on March 29, 2022, after many players and streamers demanded a mode that focused solely on combat instead of the usual Fortnite gameplay that heavily relies on building defensive structures. The popularity of Fortnite is unsurprising, even among celebrities, considering Epic’s game constantly keeps evolving with each of its updates.
With countless collaborations and numerous gameplay-changing features introduced in every new season, it’s no wonder that the game manages to attract the attention of many celebrities such as Zack Snyder, Travis Scott, and even Drake. With a confirmed release date of August 25 and a rumored Heist theme, Fortnite’s Chapter 4 Season 4 update will introduce a plethora of unique skins as well as some brand-new weapons, such as the Rocket Ram and Deployable Briefcase Auto Turret. It remains to be seen what other interesting additions Fortnite’s latest Season will bring to the table.
Fortnite is currently available for Mobile, PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
