Each party member in Xenoblade Chronicles X: Definitive Edition has an assigned Class and a unique art that they can use. Xenoblade Chronicles X: Definitive Edition has 22 playable characters, and as you probably figured, not all of them are recruited through Story Missions. Meaning you'll have your hands full with Affinity Missions if you're going to recruit all of them. Some of these Missions have level or chapter requirements, so you should make a habit of checking the orange exclamation points on your map of NLA.

Party Members Unlock Requirements

You'll find that certain party members are better during Xenoblade Chronicles X's campaign, while others are better for postgame. Party members share Classes with the main character and other characters, but they have signature arts that only they (aside from the main character) can use/learn. Look over their Skills and Arts to create an ideal team for your missions.

You can play as another party member by going into the Active Members on the pause menu, and hovering over the character in your party and tapping X-button. Note that some of the party members in Xenoblade Chronicles X: Definitive Edition were not available in Xenoblade Chronicles X (Wii U).

Elma
