The Xenoblade saga has always allowed players to tailor and refine the experience to their liking. Xenoblade Chronicles 3 continues this trend by offering lots of customization options in the form of fighting styles, classes, and appearance options.
Xenoblade Chronicles 3 doesn't have the same amount of clothing options as Xenoblade Chronicles: The Definitive Edition. However, the features are there for players that don't want to settle on one look for their favorite characters.
Changing the appearance of the party won't occur until Chapter 3 after helping Ethel on Colony 4. However, players have access to a basic clothing change for their characters in Chapter 2.
Changing Classes For New Base Clothing
The first instance where players have access to a basic change of appearance is in Chapter 2 - this can still take time as Xenoblade 3 is a massive game.
Players will be notified when they can change class using the Character Class menu screen. Swapping a character's class with one of the other characters will also change their base clothing set. For example, if Lanz uses Noah's Swordfighter class, then his outfit will change to Noah's default outfit with the red jacket.
Players can change their class by using the following instructions:
- Press X to pause the game and access the Menu screen
- Select the Characters tab
- Select the Class tab
- In the Class menu, select the desired character
- Choose the desired character class
- This will then change the chosen character's base clothing set.
Full Customization Options
As stated above, the ability to fully customize a character's appearance only unlocks in Chapter 3 when the party is settled into Colony 4. The options become available after helping Ethel during her Hero Quest.
After the events of the party's first Hero Quest are complete, players will have access to more customization options for their characters in Xenoblade 3. Just be sure to keep the party's clothes clean in Xenoblade Chronicles, as they get dirty over time.
Changing Clothes In Xenoblade Chronicles 3
To change clothes in Xenoblade Chronicles 3, follow these instructions:
- Press X to pause the game and access the Menu screen
- Select the Characters tab
- Select the Clothing tab
- The characters will have a selection of clothing to wear, starting with the Base Clothing for the character class.
How To Unlock More Clothes
To unlock more outfit sets for the characters, they first need to reach a Rank 10 for the clothing to remain permanently in their inventory. Thankfully, reaching a Rank of 10 for a character class doesn't take too long if one is willing to put some time into fighting on the battlefield or investing Nopon Coins to unlock the Rankings.
Moreover, the expansion pass for Xenoblade Chronicles 3 includes the Adventure Vol. 1 Support Pack. This pack allows players to change the color of their character's base clothing outfits. There is no word yet if any more clothing sets will become available through DLC. However, there is a lot of content to play around with to keep Xenoblade 3 fans busy for hours.
Xenoblade Chronicles 3 is available now for the Nintendo Switch.
