Xbox has added more than 60 new games to its lineup of Play Anywhere titles, featuring an assortment of NEOGEO games from the Arcade Archives line. Xbox's Play Anywhere program bridges the gap between Microsoft's home console and PC libraries, giving players the freedom to play their games on whichever device they choose. Play Anywhere games can be downloaded and played on either the Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S or on a PC without needing to buy a separate version, with many also supporting cloud streaming.

Xbox's library of Play Anywhere games boasts more than 2,000 unique titles, featuring some of today's biggest hits. Games like ARC Raiders, Call of Duty: Black Ops 7, and Silent Hill 2 are all available as part of the sizable set of Play Anywhere games, alongside a wide array of indie games. Xbox even has multiple upcoming games already confirmed to be eligible, with some of the biggest releases of 2026, including Forza Horizon 6 and 007 First Light, featuring cross-platform compatibility. Now, even more games are joining Xbox's Play Anywhere program.

New Xbox CCO Matt Booty shares his thoughts about the future of Xbox's first-party games amid Microsoft Gaming's leadership shake-up.

Xbox Adds More Than 60 Classic Games to Play Anywhere

Xbox fans have discovered a group of more than 60 games that have recently gained the Xbox Play Anywhere tag. The full list of games comes from the Arcade Archives library of retro games, specifically games originally released for the NeoGeo. The sizable selection of games includes several popular franchises from the console, like Metal Slug, The King of Fighters, and Fatal Fury, among several others. Many games on the list notably have not seen the PC tag properly added to their Xbox Store listing yet, with Microsoft likely still in the process of configuring the games to properly unlock on both PC and Xbox consoles. Xbox has not announced the addition of the NeoGeo games to Play Anywhere, though official confirmation will probably come soon.
