Xbox Live Gold has not announced what the free games for April will be, although everyone has a wish list. But Twitter users have uncovered two games that appear to be free on Gold now; whether or not they are the free games for April has yet to be seen.

Xbox Live Gold gives out free games every month to subscribers. March 2020 included a free Batman game and more, and players can use the free games to earn Microsoft points from the Game Pass Quests. Although it usually tells players the free games by this time in the month, no one has heard anything about it from Microsoft.

In spite of that, players have found two new free games on the Xbox Live Gold store: Project Cars 2 and Fable Anniversary. Although fans of the series have long been asking Microsoft to reboot the Fable series, there hasn't been any news on that front yet. However, at least players can now play the Anniversary edition for free if they have Gold.

Free Game Xbox Live Gold

Twitter user Wario 64 discovered the free games and posted about it on Twitter March 30th, 2020. The games appear to only be free for Gold members. So are they the free games for April, or are they extra games released by Xbox Live to give Gold members more to play while the coronavirus has them locked at home?

These free games could be a gift for players since Xbox Live has been down three times already this month. Players have been a little upset with Microsoft; they have been messing up matchmaking and turning off some features due to the massive influx of players on Live because of the COVID-19 pandemic outside.

While it sucks having the servers crash and the custom gamerpics being disabled, players are still flocking to their consoles to get some relief from the news and the boredom of social distancing. And it's nice to have a couple of extra free games, no matter what the reason for getting them. Everyone will just have to wait to see if these are the free games for the month or if they are free gifts for a Coronavirus-infected world.
