UPDATE 11/13: While some gamers are still reporting problems with Xbox's online services, Xbox claims that everything is back to normal. In my own experience, I found that clearing the alternate MAC address got things working again after Xbox gave the all-clear.

Xbox's online services appear to be down right now. Generally speaking, Xbox gamers can rely on the company's servers. However, there are certainly times when Xbox experiences issues, keeping gamers from accessing their library and playing titles online.
Whenever outages like these happen, mileage may vary. Some Xbox gamers seem to skate by completely unimpeded, while others may struggle with the problems for quite some time. It's unclear exactly how widespread the latest outage is, but it has caused a spike in reports on Down Detector and there are various reports on social media confirming that gamers are having trouble accessing Xbox's online features at the time of this writing.
From my own experience, any time I try to launch an Xbox game right now (roughly 3:30pm CST on Wednesday, November 13), I am met with a message that says "There's a temporary network problem." The message then adds that there may be a "service outage" and gives me the option to play the game offline. The message is accompanied by error code 0x80832003. Xbox has yet to acknowledge the outage on social media, and currently, the Xbox Status page claims that everything is up and running as it should, even though that's clearly not the case.

Now, that is likely because these service issues have just started happening, and so Xbox may not even be completely aware of the problems. It's also possible that the outage is only impacting certain Xbox gamers and not the entire network. Whatever the case may be, there are clearly many Xbox gamers running into issues, so hopefully the problems are fixed sooner rather than later.
