Two new games are being added to the Xbox Game Pass Ultimate library today, with one being a cloud version of a previously released EA Play game and the other being entirely new. Xbox Game Pass Ultimate features several new releases every month, allowing subscribers on PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S a healthy selection of games to choose from week to week.February 2023 has yet to have its full slate of Xbox Game Pass titles announced as of yet, with Microsoft slow-rolling its announcements week by week. January 2023 was done similarly and turned out to be a very special month, however. In January, Microsoft released games including Persona 3 Portable, Persona 4 Golden, Monster Hunter Rise, and the surprise launch of Hi-Fi Rush from Evil Within developer Tango Gameworks. It's enough to keep any subscriber busy for a month or two. Now it's time to add two more games to the list. Today, February 2, Microsoft is adding the cloud version of GRID Legends as well as Darkest Dungeon to Xbox Game Pass. GRID Legends is already available to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate players via the EA Play partnership. However, up until now that hasn't included a cloud version of the game. Since both EA Play and the cloud are exclusive to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, subscribers will need the upgraded version of the subscription to play.

Darkest Dungeon, some Xbox Game Pass subscribers may recall, was previously available on the service. Unfortunately, Darkest Dungeon was removed in June 2022, as games come and go all the time on Xbox Game Pass. Now it's back, available across Xbox Game Pass, PC Game Pass, and cloud streaming. If anything, it's a great way to build up excitement for the upcoming full launch of Darkest Dungeon 2, which arrives in the first half of 2023.
For those unfamiliar with both games, GRID Legends is a racing game that finds a healthy middle between arcade-style speed and simulation-style authenticity. Darkest Dungeon is a horror-driven roguelike turn-based RPG that can be brutally challenging and equally rewarding. Needless to say, they're wildly different games and will add some great diversity to the Xbox Game Pass library.
Xbox has yet to fully unveil the rest of its plans for Xbox Game Pass in February, so further game releases in the month are rather thin. Hot Wheels Unleashed: Game of the Year Edition will arrive on February 7. After that, expect further Microsoft announcements in the weeks to come to fill out this month's Xbox Game Pass release schedule.
