Summary

  • Xbox Game Pass delivered a consistent level of quality throughout 2023, making it one of its best years ever.
  • The early 2024 line-up for Xbox Game Pass is already impressive, featuring highly requested games like Assassin's Creed Valhalla and Resident Evil 2 Remake.
  • There are several highly anticipated games set to release on Xbox Game Pass in 2024, including Obsidian's Avowed, Senua's Saga: Hellblade 2, and S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2.

2023 may not have been the best year for Xbox first-party exclusives, with some much-anticipated releases feeling a bit disappointing in the end, but that didn't detract from the excellent year that Xbox Game Pass had overall. From wonderful surprises like Hi-Fi Rush to a steady stream of first-party games throughout the year like Starfield and Forza Motorsport, including some great third-party additions like Texas Chain Saw Massacre, Sea of Stars, and GTA 5, Xbox Game Pass delivered a consistent level of quality all year long, easily making 2023 one of its best years ever.

But 2023 is now well and truly in the rear-view mirror, and it's time to look ahead to see what Xbox Game Pass has in store in 2024. Much like it has every year since 2017, Xbox Game Pass will continue to bring a handful of new games to the service every month, and though a lot of these games will be kept under wraps until the last second, there are a good few titles already confirmed for Xbox Game Pass' 2024 line-up, and based solely on those, fans can expect another great year.

Xbox Game Pass Could Have a Big 2024 Ahead of Itself

Xbox Game Pass Already Has a Great Early 2024 Line-Up Confirmed

Just like it did in 2023, Xbox Game Pass has kicked off the new year in style, delivering a pretty outstanding line-up this January. Over the course of the next few weeks, Xbox Game Pass subscribers will get to enjoy huge titles like Assassin's Creed Valhalla and Resident Evil 2 Remake, two games that have been heavily requested for years now. The promising Indie sequel Turnip Boy Robs a Bank is also set to release on Xbox Game Pass day one this month, along with a few other intriguing smaller titles.

But January is only the beginning. Though the vast majority of its games haven't been confirmed yet, February 2024 is already set to be a good month for Xbox Game Pass, bringing three day-one releases including the long-awaited Persona 3 Reload, a remake of the 2006 classic, PlateUp!, the frenetic co-op cooking sim, and Open Roads, a narrative adventure game starring Keri Russell and Kaitlyn Dever.

There Are Some Huge Games Set to Release on Xbox Game Pass in 2024

But while January and February are kicking off the year in the right way, Xbox Game Pass is keeping the majority of its most exciting releases under wraps, at least for now. There are currently just under 40 day-one Xbox Game Pass releases that have a tentative 2024 release date, and while a few of these could receive delays, even just a handful could make 2024 one of Xbox Game Pass' best years.

Obsidian's long-awaited fantasy RPG Avowed is currently slated for a 2024 release, right alongside the mysterious sequel Ark 2. After years of being drip-fed trailers, Senua's Saga: Hellblade 2 is also finally set to release on Xbox Game Pass this year, as is S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2, a game that's received numerous delays due to many of its developers being forced to fight in the ongoing Ukraine-Russia war. There are also a ton of promising Indie games currently set for a 2024 release on Xbox Game Pass, including the Bladerunner-inspired Replaced, Harmonium: The Musical, and the horror game Still Wakes the Deep. And while there's no guarantee that fans will see it this year, when it does release, Hollow Knight: Silksong is also set to come to Xbox Game Pass.
