- Warhammer: Vermintide 2 is the 52nd title that was added to Xbox Game Pass in 2025.
Xbox Game Pass subscribers can once again play Warhammer: Vermintide 2 as part of their memberships starting today. This is the seventh title to reach Microsoft's subscription service in May 2025, as well as the 52nd new Xbox Game Pass release since the turn of the year.
Warhammer: Vermintide 2 is a first-person action game developed by Swedish studio Fatshark. It was originally released for PC in March 2018 before making its way to the Xbox One and PS4 in July and December of the same year, respectively. Its long co-op campaign received widespread praise and is a big part of the reason why Vermintide 2 is one of the highest-rated Warhammer games in recent memory, as reflected in its "Strong" rating on OpenCritic, based on an average score of 83 and a 92% reviewer recommendation rate.
The Best Games On Xbox Game Pass (January 2026)
Xbox Game Pass is unquestionably worth the subscription fee, but which of the available games are the best use of your hard drive space?
Warhammer: Vermintide 2 made its way to Xbox Game Pass earlier today, May 13. This is the third time that the critically acclaimed action game is available via Microsoft's subscription service, as Vermintide 2 previously had two year-long XGP stints—one ending in July 2018, and another that concluded in September 2021. Since it's not a day-one title, Vermintide 2 can be played via every tier of Xbox Game Pass except for Core.

Looking ahead, Doom: The Dark Ages will round out the first half of this month's Xbox Game Pass lineup, with its day-one release scheduled for May 15. Another day-one title—a papercraft-style action adventure called Kulebra and the Souls of Limbo—is then set to arrive the following day.
Afterward, Xbox Game Pass will receive two public service-themed sim games: Firefighting Simulator: The Squad and Police Simulator: Patrol Officers. Both of them will be added to Microsoft's on-demand game catalog on May 20. This month's lineup will then be concluded with a pair of day-one releases in the form of To A T and Spray Paint Simulator, which are scheduled to launch on May 28 and May 29, respectively.
Regarding other upcoming catalog updates, May 15 will see Xbox Game Pass lose five titles, including Dune: Spice Wars and Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons. Jurassic World Evolution 2, Little Kitty, Big City, and Planet of Lana are now expected to leave at the end of the month; all three were originally scheduled for removal on the 15th, but Microsoft revised the rotation schedule nine days ahead of that date.
