Xbox Game Pass loses titles around the first and middle of every month, with May 15 seeing the departure of five games across all platforms. What console users should know, however, is that two of the leaving games just apply to PC Game Pass, meaning it's only about three for them, but five for anyone who uses it across all platforms.

Notably, Xbox Game Pass has added as many games as it is losing over the first half of the month. It's been slower than usual, but thus far, fans have received titles like Redfall, Ravenlok, Weird West: Definitive Edition, Shadowrun Trilogy, and Fuga: Melodies of Steel 2, any of which are good substitutes to play instead of the departing games.

Xbox Game Pass subscribers lose access to Before We Leave, Danganronpa 2: Goodbye Despair Anniversary Edition, Hearts of Iron 4: Cadet Edition, Her Story, and Umurangi Generation Special Edition today. Hearts of Iron and Her Story only pertain to PC Game Pass users, while Dangonronpa 2 is leaving Console and PC. Before We Leave and Umurangi Generation are leaving all three available Xbox Game Pass platforms (PC, Cloud, and Console).

Xbox Game Pass also has some more games lined up for later this month, including Planet of Lana, Railway Empire 2, and Farworld Pioneers. It is expected to announce a few more games sometime soon, but as a whole, it's been a slower month than normal for the service.

While this is mere speculation, it could be due to Starfield's release on Xbox Game Pass later this year. It is no doubt one of the biggest releases of the year, but its position as a day-one Xbox Game Pass game is likely daunting to anything releasing before it. May is a far way away from September, obviously, but any large AAA games risk clashing with or being overshadowed by Starfield. It remains to be seen, of course, but fans should expect a big Fall 2023 for Xbox Game Pass if the summer months wane a little.

Xbox Game Pass subscribers get a handful of games every month.
