Summary
- New hints suggest Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1+2 will be coming to Xbox Game Pass soon.
- Xbox fans eagerly anticipate a possible influx of Activision games on Game Pass after Bethesda franchises joined permanently.
- Rumors swirl around the potential inclusion of iconic franchises like Spyro, Crash Bandicoot, and Call of Duty on Xbox Game Pass.
Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1+2 is the latest Activision title to hit the Xbox Game Pass rumor mill in the days leading up to Microsoft's big showcase. Having debuted back in 2020, Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1+2 is a remake of the original two Pro Skater games that lit up the scene in 1999 and 2000. Tony Hawk's Pro Skater is widely considered by many to be the best skating game franchise ever. As such, the 1+2 remake was a massive success, though after developer Vicarious Visions was absorbed by Blizzard, fans have been left out to dry on Pro Skater 3 and 4 remakes.
As is standard practice, all of Xbox's first party games become permanent fixtures within Game Pass upon release. The completion of Xbox's acquisition of Bethesda saw many franchises like Fallout, Doom, Wolfenstein, and The Elder Scrolls flood into Game Pass permanently. With this year's showcase being the first since the completion of the Activision Blizzard acquisition, many Xbox fans are expecting the same to happen for Activision's massive library of games.
Report Claims to Reveal Why Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3+4 Remake Was Rejected By Activision
A source reportedly reveals the reason why a pitch for the rumored Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3+4 remake collection was rejected by Activision.
Just two days ahead of Xbox's showcase, Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1+2 has begun being hinted at joining Game Pass on June 11. Xbox Wire's Next Week on Xbox post confirms the Pro Skater 1+2 remake for a Windows PC release next week. This is likely to point toward the title also dropping on PC Game Pass and potentially Game Pass on consoles as well.
Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1 + 2 Could Be Coming To Xbox Game Pass
The Verge's Tom Warren has been hinting that Xbox Game Pass users are about to have an influx of games hitting the subscription in the coming days around Xbox's showcase. It'll be interesting to know whether the entire Call of Duty franchise will be added at once and whether the most recent entries like Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 and Modern Warfare 3 will be included. With the sheer amount of titles in Activision's library, it may make more sense to parse out groups of these games over several months to avoid potentially overwhelming the subscriber base or having titles underperform. Games like Spyro Reignited Trilogy and Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy have been swirling the rumor mill as well, with Prototype, Singularity, and Activision's Transformers titles also populating Game Pass users' wish lists.
Xbox fans can surely expect to learn more about MachineGames' Indiana Jones and the Great Circle and Obsidian Entertainment's Avowed at the showcase on June 9. Additionally, a Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 direct will follow up the show with the likely unveiling of the game's campaign, multiplayer, and Zombies modes. Furthermore, rumors have been swirling about a Gears of War 6 reveal, the announcement of the next Doom game from id Software, and the first gameplay showing of Xbox's Perfect Dark reboot, drumming up much excitement within the Xbox community. Fans of skateboarding games like Pro Skater should keep an eye on Geoff Keighley's Summer Game Fest as well, as EA is rumored to be sharing more about Skate 4.
