Xbox has announced that six additional games will be leaving the Xbox Game Pass subscription service in mid-June, on top of six games that have previously been confirmed. June is seeing a significant number of titles leave Xbox Game Pass. It's unclear exactly why June is seeing so many Xbox Game Pass deals end, but Xbox is at least transparently confirming which titles won't be returning. Xbox Game Pass subscribers may want to play these games while they still have the opportunity.June started off with a wave of game removals from Xbox Game Pass. Five different games left the subscription service at the end of May. The titles removed include the grand strategy Europa Universalis 4, RTS Evil Genius 2: World Domination, card battler Floppy Knights, sim Lawn Mowing Simulator, and football title and EA Play partner game FIFA 21. Xbox Game Pass did add several games to start June, as well. Car Mechanic Simulator 2021, Slayers X, and The Big Con all arrived on the service on June 1. The next wave of games leaving the Xbox Game Pass service was previously confirmed to be June 15. What was initially believed to be a loss of six games has ballooned up to twelve, however. The six games newly confirmed to be leaving Xbox Game Pass include Among Us, Cricket 22, Generation Zero, Naraka: Bladepoint, The Hunter: Call of the Wild, and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder's Revenge. That's a selection of several popular games that are surprising to see leave the service, to say the least.
No statement was provided for why these games are leaving Xbox Game Pass, nor why the six games were announced later than those prior. It's possible that Xbox was trying to renegotiate the games' return, or that other contract issues interfered with the process. Either way, Xbox Game Pass subscribers wanting to play Among Us or TMNT: Shredder's Revenge one more time before they're removed from the service have until June 15 to do so.
The newly confirmed games leaving Xbox Game Pass will be joining six other titles previously confirmed to be removed on June 16. Those six games are Bridge Constructor Portal, Chorus, Maneater, Mortal Shell, Serious Sam 4, and Total War: Three Kingdoms. These titles are likely being removed due to popularity, to make room for newer releases.
June is also a month where a significant number of new games are added to Xbox Game Pass. A wave of games including Amnesia: The Bunker, Hypnospace Outlaw, Rune Factory 4 Special, Stacking, and Dordogne will be released between now and June 13. Plus, the Xbox Games Showcase event is scheduled for June 11 and will likely feature even more Xbox Game Pass announcements. Hopefully, the total will make up for the 12 Xbox Game Pass games being removed in the first half of June.
