Xbox Game Pass subscribers can mark their calendars for October 15, as that's when the day one game Ball x Pit is joining the lineup. 2025 will go down in history as one of the greatest years for Xbox Game Pass. Xbox Game Pass subscribers have been treated to all kinds of critically-acclaimed day one games in 2025, and there are even more on the way.
Later this month, Gears of War: Reloaded will join Xbox Game Pass as a day one game, giving fans the chance to relive the original third-person shooter classic with spruced-up visuals, improved performance, and various other quality-of-life enhancements that take advantage of modern hardware. September remains a big question mark at the time of this writing, but we do know of multiple day one games coming to Xbox Game Pass in October, with yet another one just recently confirmed.
Xbox Game Pass August-October Games Are a Feast of One Genre
A wide range of exciting titles is making its way to the Xbox Game Pass service over the coming months, including some heavy-hitters for one genre.
Ball x Pit was one of the games featured at the latest Nintendo Indie World showcase. For those unfamiliar with the game, Ball x Pit is a roguelite where players move down lanes, destroying incoming waves of enemies all the while leveling up and acquiring more powerful weapons. The balls that players shoot ricochet around the area and make the screen rather chaotic, giving Ball x Pit serious Vampire Survivors vibes. Between rounds of action, players can recruit new characters and work on rebuilding their town, with the base-building element adding an interesting wrinkle to the proceedings. Ball x Pit looks incredibly promising and should make a solid addition to the Game Pass lineup when it's added on October 15. Keep in mind that day one games are typically only available to PC Game Pass and Game Pass Ultimate subscribers, and the same will likely hold true for Ball x Pit.
Ball x Pit is the latest game confirmed for the Xbox Game Pass October 2025 lineup, making an already-stacked month that much more exciting. It will be joined by Double Fine's bizarre new game Keeper on October 17, which sees players controlling a living lighthouse. Then, on October 21, Ninja Gaiden 4 will be added to the Game Pass library, giving fans their first brand-new main series entry in 13 years.
