The latest update to the Xbox Game Pass subscription service has added McPixel 3 for those on the PC, cloud, and Xbox consoles to play. While it's true that games are removed from the Xbox Game Pass subscription service on a regular basis, it's also true that new games are added to the lineup fairly consistently as well. In fact, Microsoft is adding many more games to Xbox Game Pass in the first half of July 2023 than it is removing.
On July 15, Xbox Game Pass is losing three games: Exo One, PAW Patrol The Movie: Adventure City Calls, and Spelunky 2. While it's always disappointing when games are removed from Game Pass, especially a critically-acclaimed game like Spelunky 2, the good news is that subscribers are being treated to many more new games in the first wave of Game Pass additions for July 2023.
And now yet another new Game Pass game for July 2023 has been added to the mix with McPixel 3 available now across the cloud, consoles, and PC. McPixel 3 uses a retro pixelated art style and gives players the chance to experience a variety of different levels and mini-games. Its humor is one of its main selling points, though the game admittedly won't appeal to everyone. McPixel 3 earned mixed reviews from critics, but there's no harm in checking it out through one's Xbox Game Pass subscription.
McPixel 3 isn't the only game coming to the Xbox Game Pass service as part of the first wave of July 2023 additions. On July 11, Xbox Game Pass subscribers can try Common'hood, while those with PC Game Pass and Xbox Game Pass Ultimate can play Insurgency: Sandstorm. Capcom's new game Exoprimal is joining the Game Pass lineup on July 14. Techtonica hits early access on July 18, joined by The Cave.
And these games are coming on top of the titles that have already been added to Xbox Game Pass in July 2023. Just recently, Xbox Game Pass added Grand Theft Auto 5 and Sword and Fairy: Together Forever to its lineup of games. And before that, the well-reviewed Arcade Paradise was added to Game Pass.
The months ahead should feature plenty more big new additions to the Xbox Game Pass lineup, with the service's flagship game being Bethesda's new open world sci-fi RPG Starfield. Needless to say, Xbox Game Pass subscribers should have no shortage of games to play.
