Eight day one games are confirmed to be coming to the Xbox Game Pass subscription service in October 2025. For many, the day one games are the main reason to be signed up for Xbox Game Pass. If one plays enough day one games that they otherwise would have purchased, Xbox Game Pass basically pays for itself. The downside is that the day one Xbox Game Pass games are typically exclusive to two tiers of the service.

Those that want to play day one Xbox Game Pass games need to be signed up for the Ultimate tier or PC Game Pass. Day one games come to the Standard tier of Xbox Game Pass every once in a blue moon, but generally that tier has to wait longer for the new games. Clearly, anyone that wants to get the most bang for their buck when it comes to Xbox Game Pass will want to be signed up for the Ultimate tier or PC Game Pass.

As far as upcoming day one Xbox Game Pass games go, there are eight confirmed for October 2025 so far. Microsoft has yet to reveal the full list of new Xbox Game Pass games for October 2025, so the fact that eight are already confirmed is a good sign that next month is going to be incredibly busy for the service. So far, the day one Xbox Game Pass games confirmed for October 2025 are Little Rocket Lab and SOPA - Tale of the Stolen Potato on the 7th, Ball x Pit on the 15th, Keeper on the 17th, Ninja Gaiden 4 on the 21st, Bounty Star and Moonlighter 2 on the 23rd, and finally, The Outer Worlds 2 on the 29th.

Xbox Game Pass October 2025 Games

  • Little Rocket Lab - October 7
  • SOPA - Tale of the Stolen Potato - October 7
  • Ball x Pit - October 15
  • Keeper - October 17
  • Ninja Gaiden 4 - October 21
  • Bounty Star - October 23
  • Moonlighter 2 - October 23
  • The Outer Worlds 2 - October 29

Out of these, there are a few that stand out as particularly exciting. Keeper is the next game from Double Fine, the studio behind the brilliant Psychonaut series and other cult classic games. In it, it seems players take control of a sentient lighthouse. In typical Double Fine fashion, Keeper features a striking art style and looks like it could be one of the year's sleeper hits.

Ninja Gaiden 4, meanwhile, is the long-awaited fourth installment in the 3D Ninja Gaiden series. It comes a whopping 13 years after the release of Ninja Gaiden 3, so fans of the action-packed franchise have been waiting ages to play NG4. Ninja Gaiden 4 features the return of fan-favorite character Ryu Hayabusa, but it also heavily features new protagonist Yakumo as well.

And finally, Xbox Game Pass subscribers will definitely want to keep an eye on The Outer Worlds 2. The latest RPG from Obsidian Entertainment, The Outer Worlds 2 is a bigger and bolder take on the concept presented by the original game, which is essentially first-person Fallout but in space. The Outer Worlds 2 is being positioned as Xbox's big fall 2025 game, and Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass subscribers will be able to play through it in its entirety without paying anything beyond what they already do for their subscription.
