The Bookwalker: Thief of Tales is a new day one Xbox Game Pass game scheduled to join the service on Thursday, June 22. With the first wave of Xbox Game Pass games for June 2023 already added to the service, subscribers are waiting patiently to learn about the games coming in the second half of the month. While the official announcement should come soon, it has yet to be made at the time of this writing.
While Microsoft has yet to make the announcement about all the new games coming to Xbox Game Pass in the second half of June 2023, fans have been clued in on the games that are leaving the service this month. DJ Max Respect V, Empire of Sin, Matchpoint: Tennis Championships, Omori, Olija, and Road 96 are all set to leave the Xbox Game Pass service on June 30.
It will definitely be sad to see those games removed from the Xbox Game Pass lineup, but at least they are getting replaced by the new additions. Again, Microsoft has yet to reveal all the new games coming to Xbox Game Pass in June 2023, but fans do know that they can try The Bookwalker: Thief of Tales starting June 22.
For those unfamiliar with the game, The Bookwalker: Thief of Tales is a story-driven game where players are able to travel from the real world to the fictional worlds of books to collect helpful items. The game switches between a first-person viewpoint and an isometric perspective which help give it a very distinct look. The game sounds intriguing on paper, but Xbox Game Pass subscribers will have to play it for themselves on June 22 to see if it makes a worthy addition to the Game Pass library or not.
The Bookwalker: Thief of Tales was one of the 10 Xbox Game Pass indie games confirmed as part of the extended version of the Xbox Games Showcase. The other games mentioned were Another Crab's Treasure, Galacticare, Harold Halibut, Little Kitty Big City, Mineko's Night Market, Neon White, Sea of Stars, Techtonica, and The Wandering Village.
Of course, these indie games are just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to Xbox Game Pass. There are also plenty of higher profile, big budget Xbox Game Pass games on the way as well, with two of the bigger ones coming in 2023 being Bethesda's open world sci-fi RPG Starfield and the long-awaited next-gen Forza Motorsport game.
