In just a few short days from now, the month of May is drawing to a close, which means that Xbox Live subscribers will be getting their hands on a new set of free games that will be available all throughout June. Of course, until then, players will still have access to some of May's Games with Gold including V-Rally which will be available until June 15, and Overlord 2 until May 31.

Now, players with active subscriptions to either Xbox Live or Xbox Game Pass Ultimate will be able to access and download the following games. All throughout the month of June, Xbox One players will be able to play Shantae and the Pirate's Curse to be followed by Coffee Talk from June 16 to July 15. On the other hand, Xbox 360 players are getting Destroy All Humans from June 1-15, and Sine Mora for June 16-30. Of course, both Destroy All Humans and Sine Mora are also available for Xbox One players via backward compatibility.

Although the official announcement of next month's Xbox Games with Gold was just released a few hours ago, it appears that June's roster of free games is already off to a rough start. As of this writing, the official announcement video already has more dislikes than likes, which is a reflection of the disappointment of Xbox Live Gold subscribers, similar to the feedback received by this month's games.

Looking at the upcoming Xbox Games with Gold, it appears that Microsoft has once again decided to offer games that may not be that well-known to most players. As an example, Coffee Talk, which is a heart-to-heart talking simulator, doesn't even have a Metacritic score yet for the Xbox One. However, the game is rated somewhere between 70-75% for the PC, PS4, and Nintendo Switch. Moreover, Shantae and the Pirate's Curse fared slightly better with 79% on Metacritic. Of course, given that the roster of June's Xbox Games with Gold has just been released, the reception may still change as more players hear about it.

On the other hand, Sony has just announced the first free game for June for subscribers of the PS Plus, which will be Call of Duty: WW2 that is already available to download now. Similar to May's Xbox Games With Gold, this month's roster of free PS Plus games were also met with criticism. However, it appears that Sony is trying to make up for it with even better games for June starting with Call of Duty: WW2. At the moment, the rest of the free PS Plus games are still unknown, but Marvel's Spider-Man is rumored to be included for June.
