The Wacky History of Special Edition Xbox Controllers

Released to tie in with the premiere of the Sonic the Hedgehog 2 movie, the controllers are covered in faux fur and come in blue and red for Sonic and Knuckles, respectively. The Edible Xbox Series X/S Controller
Perhaps the biggest standout among special edition Xbox controllers comes with the Wonka-inspired Xbox Series X/S console. Unveiled in 2023, the console looks like a chocolate bar, though it is not edible. The controller, on the other hand, is. It is made out of 100% pure chocolate and wrapped in the signature Willy Wonka gold wrapper.
It’s certainly not the last that players have seen of Xbox’s wacky controller designs, and the company is sure to continue to defy expectations. With the customization options available, players don’t have to wait for Microsoft to design something special as the Xbox Design Lab allows them to create their own unique controller.
