Compulsion Games’ South of Midnight could be released for Xbox in 2024, according to information taken from a LinkedIn post made by an Xbox employee. South of Midnight is among the most eagerly awaited console exclusives on the Xbox Series X/S, and its addition to an already packed 2024 is good news for Xbox fans.
South of Midnight was originally announced at Xbox Showcase back in June when its first trailer was unveiled. The game is being developed by Compulsion Games, which released We Happy Few in 2018. The upcoming exclusive will be set in a dark, Southern setting, and its protagonist will be a girl called Hazel, who has the power to capture supernatural beings. While not much is known about the game so far, the title’s trailer showcased pretty cool Tim Burton-inspired stop-motion animation aesthetics and has been confirmed to be a third-person action adventure.
The rumor regarding the release of South of Midnight in 2024 started after the Senior Public Relations Manager at Xbox, Brad Hilderbrand, listed the title as one of the 2024 projects he worked on on his LinkedIn profile. At the moment of this report, the post is still live, but Hilderbrand already erased the 2024 release date from both South of Midnight and Towerborne, which makes sense, considering there’s no official announcement yet.
