In the game Wytchwood, players get to wander a magical, fairytale-like world filled with tons of strange and wonderful creatures. One of these that the player gets to meet while in the Village is a gargoyle who is looking to make a fashion statement in this wholesome indie game.
The Gargoyle's Quest in Wytchwood
While players are looking into the burning of the Black Sheep's workplace in the kids-friendly puzzle title, Wytchwood, they bump into a gargoyle wearing a very fashionable scarf. The witch admires the scarf and is looking to take it when the gargoyle begins to speak. It tells her that it can help her out if she does a few things first. Players have to bring it several items; these are:
- Thread and Needle
- Three pairs of Elf shoes
- One Gnome Hat
For anyone playing Wytchwood long enough to get to this point, the first two should be pretty easy to get. Players can make the sewing kit from a mosquito's stinger and some reed rope. Next, players will have to grab those shoes by making some shiny lures out of fireflies, shiny stones, and bundles of wood. Place the lures in the middle of the Village streets and watch the Elves flock to it. As soon as the Elf explodes from the lure's magic, it will leave its shoes behind.
This leaves the Gnome Hat for players to find. But where are the gnomes, and how can players get their hats in this indie puzzle video game?
Where to Find Gnomes in Wytchwood
There are three or so gnomes located in Wytchwood, but players may not remember where. Since the witch has not interacted with them before, it may be hard to figure out exactly where they have been found before. But the gnomes are located in the Sunflower Fields of the Fields location. Use a Wytchwood Hearthseed to fast travel to the in-between, then click on the southern-most portal to go to the Fields. Once there, players will want to head to the east. Cross either the northern or southern bridge and find the Sunflower Fields north of the pumpkin patch.
Using Witch Sight, players can figure out the gnome's weakness: a puzzle box.
They can be crafted Animal-Crossing-style with Changling Roots, Nails, and Seashells. Make one and drop it into the field for the gnome to find. The puzzle is so challenging that the gnome's head will explode and players will be able to take its hat.
