WWE 2K25 Releases New Wave DLC Pack

WWE 2K25 finally rolled out its first DLC, the New Wave Pack, adding two of NXT's top stars and a pair of former tag team champions to the game's already impressive roster. However, while the additions of Stephanie Vaquer, Giulia, and the Motor City Machine Guns provide some fun new options for WWE 2K25 players, the fifth mystery wrestler in the pack has yet to be revealed.

The base game roster in WWE 2K25 is already the biggest the franchise has ever seen, with hundreds of wrestlers from the past and present. In addition to letting players unlock some classic original MyRISE characters, the game also has more than 20 more wrestlers that will be launched through future DLC packs.

The New Wave DLC pack arrived right on time, aligning with the WWE 2K25 DLC release date schedule that was released in March, and as the name suggests, it brings forth four new superstars who have made their main-roster debuts within the past year. The Motor City Machine Guns, Alex Shelley and Chris Sabin, shocked the SmackDown faithful in October 2024 when they won the WWE Tag Team Championship in just their second appearance. The two Women's Division wrestlers, while currently officially listed as stars on the NXT brand, made their RAW debuts in April, as current NXT Women's Champion Vaquer challenged Iyo Sky to a match that ended abruptly after interference from Giulia.

There is still one missing piece of the puzzle, however. A fifth special celebrity guest for WWE 2K25 had been promised as part of the New Wave Pack's release and was not available at its launch, which is upsetting some fans of the wrestling game franchise. In a Twitter post, the game's official account states that the fifth wrestler will be revealed "in the coming weeks," making it unclear when the mystery guest will be unveiled or added to the game's roster. The next DLC pack, the Dunk and Destruction Pack, is set for release on June 25 and features five more roster additions, including three surprise appearances by unnamed NBA players. Additionally, another celebrity guest is planned for the Fearless Pack, which comes out in July.

Along with the four new wrestlers themselves, the newly released DLC pack also brings with it more than 40 new moves and taunts that they can perform, which can also be slotted in for players' Create-a-Superstar wrestlers or other official members of the game's roster. The game is also taking the opportunity of the DLC's release to announce that Chapter 2 of WWE 2K25's The Island is coming soon, giving players more content to explore in the new game mode.
