Professional wrestling makes another appearance in the video game space, with WWE 2K24 looking to bring the sport's simulation titles to a new generation of entertainment. Whether you enjoy the drama of a story mode, the competition of building your own faction, or simply want to take control of some of your favorite athletes, WWE 2K24 has something for everyone.
Players who take part in the game's MyRise Undisputed game mode will come to a crossroads in the story, where they must decide if they want to side with The Miz and continue their Undisputed WWE Universal Championship reign on Smackdown, or take their title and go to NXT. If you are not sure whether to join The Miz or go to NXT, this guide will walk you through the consequences of either action.

WWE 2K24 is set to feature two in-depth story modes for wrestling fans to experience. Here's what you need to know about the differences between them.
What Happens If You Side With The Miz in MyRise Undisputed?
If players choose to side with The Miz in WWE 2K24 MyRise Undisputed mode, they can expect that the long-standing rivalry with the Smackdown General Manager comes to an end. With that said, it puts your created superstar at the mercy of The Miz and his plans to make you the most "must-see" Undisputed WWE Universal Champion of all time. In an attempt to do this, you will find yourself hosting your own television show and aligning with NXT star Gigi Dolin as you prepare for Wrestlemania.
The first storyline associated with your new alliance with The Miz involves you hosting your own tv show alongside co-host Dolin. The debut of this show is interrupted by Xavier Woods, who takes offense to the show's creation and deems it a rip-off of his show UpUpDownDown and accuses you of plagiarizing his program. This kicks off a rivalry with Woods, which will see you defend your title against him, as well as take his video game alter ego, Zero, on in a one-on-one match. Once you beat him, Zero becomes a reward that can be added to your MyFaction line-up.
Once you get to the other side of your first rivalry and put an end to Xavier Woods' tv show, your relationship with Gigi Dolin strengthens - so much so that Miz deems it appropriate to stage a wedding between you and Dolin. After an "engagement announcement" match between the two of you and Miz and Maryse, the general manager stages a ceremony on Smackdown, only to be upstaged by the interruption of Becky Lynch and Seth Rollins. A rivalry commences between the two power couples, leading to you defending your title against Rollins and Lynch defending hers against Dolin.
As Wrestlemania arrives, players are given the unique opportunity to take part in both title matches as you take control of both your character and Dolin in a bid to win both championships and establish yourself as the most powerful duo in the WWE today. While this bid eventually becomes successful, and you head backstage with your Undisputed WWE Universal Championship and Dollin with her new WWE Women's Championship, the feat does not impress The Miz, as these matches were made without his authority. After a heated exchange with The Miz, Dollin is stripped of her title and traded away to Raw, with the General Manager also promising that your next title defense would be your hardest and last.

What Happens If You Go To NXT in MyRise Undisputed?
Should you choose to defy The Miz, you have the option to follow through with your threat and take your Undisputed WWE Universal Championship to NXT, beginning with the "Out of the Shadow" story. This causes waves in both Smackdown and NXT, as no one is certain as to how long you plan to be on the other brand and what you plan to do while you are there. After a few preliminary bouts, your quest becomes clear - in order to separate yourself from Roman Reigns, you want to go on and win the NXT Championship, which is something the "Tribal Chief" hadn't accomplished in his career.
With your new pursuit revealed, you begin a rivalry with the reigning NXT Champion, Grayson Waller, which results in you eventually battling Waller for the title. After coming up victorious and holding the belt, you are threatened with legal action from The Miz if you don't relinquish the belt and return to Smackdown. You have another showdown with Waller in the form of a 15-minute Iron Man match which, after winning again, results in you being stripped of the belt and forced to head back to Smackdown and deal with the consequences.
Upon your return, you are told that Miz has big plans for you and your big comeback to the brand, but you will first need to complete some other side missions before the General Manager is ready to deal out your punishment. You will need to complete the following additional stories:
- "King of the Wringer"
- "Aggrieve No Trace"
- "Dual Duel"
In "King of the Wringer", you enter yourself into the famous King of the Ring tournament in a bid to further cement your legacy and become the "Undisputed WWE Universal King". This, of course, is made infinitely more difficult by The Miz, who would rather see you lose the tournament and your title. In this story, you will face Drew Gulak and Drew McIntyre in two separate matches on the same night, both for your title. Should you come out victorious, the King of the Ring final is also a title match, except you will need to best two opponents in Chad Gable and Otis.
In "Aggrieve No Trace", NXT superstars Johnny Gargano and Shinsuke Nakamura took exception to your invasion of NXT and accuse you of spoiling the good name of their brand. Sami Zayn comes to your defense, which results in a tag team match involving all four in the dispute. After coming out on top, Gargano deems that he is not done with you, and challenges you to a final bout at NXT Heatwave. You take on Gargano in a Cage match, which can only be won by pinfall or submission, to finish the story.
In "Dual Duel", a familiar face from WWE 2K23 returns, with Gabriel Slade making an appearance. He comes to you as his alter ego, Slade, and challenges you to a match for your WWE Undisputed Universal Championship. After a successful defense, you are met by Gabriel Slade, who is wearing a different outfit to Slade and claims to be a different person. After interfering in your next title defense against Braun Strowman, you give Gabriel Slade what he wants in another title opportunity, with a victory over the second version of the man bringing an end to the strange tale.
Once you have done enough to get Miz's attention, you will be put in the final story of this section of MyRise Undisputed, which involves The Miz revealing that Logan Paul is the new Multiversal Infinite Champion and your belt is obsolete. After some back and forth with Miz and Logan, with the help of Finn Balor, you and Paul go head-to-head in the main event of Wrestlemania Night One, with the loser's belt retiring and the winner going on to become to top dog of Smackdown.
Should You Choose Miz or NXT In MyRise Undisputed?
Unlike your decision to pick either Dominik Mysterio or Lita, your choice between Miz and NXT cannot be repeated in a single storyline run, so it is worth considering the pros and cons of both options. Regardless of the path you tread, you will end up in the Miz's bad books, and he will have you defending your title in an Elimination Chamber match, so the difference between the two options primarily comes down to the rewards you'll receive from each story.

In both quality and quantity, the rewards you receive from siding with The Miz outweigh going to NXT, but the value of the bonuses will largely depend on which game modes you prefer to play. If you are a MyFaction player, siding with The Miz will certainly be more appealing, but the inclusion of new championships may be of value to a more casual player. Nonetheless, the best thing you can do is to have more than one MyRise run, so you can claim all the rewards from both choices in the game.
