How to Win a Ladder Match in WWE 2K24
Whether it is for a championship, a title match contract, or some other special condition, the objective of a Ladder Match is simple - be the first to climb a ladder in the middle of the ring and claim the prize that is hanging above the competitors. There are no disqualifications, no pinfalls, no submissions, and no count-outs, so players can utilize whatever weapons or strategies they like to incapacitate their opponent and win the match. Since there are special circumstances that differentiate a Ladder Match from a regular contest, there are additional controls and considerations that players will need to make to ensure they are the ones atop the ladder when the final bell rings.
How to Set Up and Climb a Ladder
The first important skill players need to be aware of is how to acquire, set up, and climb the ladder, otherwise they won't stand a chance of winning. Picking up a ladder is no different from any other weapon and requires that players either grab one from under the ring, or press the L1/LB button to pick one up that's next to them. If you are outside the ring, you can bring the ladder in with L2/LT.
Once you have your hands on a ladder, it is important that you set it up correctly, as pressing the wrong button will lead you to simply dropping the weapon and wasting precious time while your opponent is downed. To set up the ladder, position it in the center of the ring and press the X/A button and your wrestler will complete the action. From there, it is a simple matter of standing at the bottom of the ladder and pressing R1/RB to begin climbing to the top, which your superstar will do automatically.
How to Stop Opponents in a Ladder Match
When a wrestler is climbing a ladder to acquire the match-winning objective, time is of the essence for their opponent and they'll need to think quickly on their feet in order to stop their adversary from picking up the victory. This is no different in WWE 2K24, but there are some easy ways to halt your fellow competitor in their tracks:
- Climb the other side of the ladder with R1/RB and strike your opponent with Square/X or X/A. TShould you knock your opponent from the top of the ladder, you earn yourself a huge opportunity to snatch the win from them. Additionally, you can grapple your stunned opponent after striking them to perform a high-risk move from the top of the ladder.
- You can push the ladder over and topple your opponents at the same time. To do this, approach the ladder from the side and press the Circle/B button to initiate a mini-game. Rapidly tap the indicated button to struggle with your foes until the ladder is pushed over and the threat of victory neutralized.
How to Win the Ladder Mini-Game
Getting to the top of the ladder is only half of the challenge in WWE 2K24's Ladder Matches. In order to win the match, you must win the mini-game before your opponent interrupts you. The objective of the mini-game is to push the ball through the gap in the rotating circle, which can be done with the following actions.
- Move the ball around the circle with the right stick. For faster results, consider going in the opposite direction to the circle.
- As the ball hovers over the gap, press the R2/RT to push it through the gap. The ball will turn green as it hits the middle and a part of the meter will turn green.
- Hit the center of the circle with the ball 5 times to pick up the victory.
The progress of the ball does not differ between competitors. So, if you complete 4/5 of the meter, your opponent will only need to hit the center once to win, and vice versa.

How to Use a Ladder As a Weapon
Ladders serve more than one purpose in the world of professional wrestling. Not only are they necessary for winning a Ladder Match, but they also can be used to inflict punishment as weapons or as a higher platform from which to perform diving attacks. Some common and entertaining ways to hurt your adversary in a Ladder Match include:
- Like a standard weapon, you can pick up ladders with L1/LB and strike opponents using Square/X or X/A.
- Leaning a ladder against the corner and Irish Whipping them into the ladder. From there, you can perform grapple and striking moves.
- Pay homage to WWE legend Shawn Michaels by climbing the ladder with R1 and pressing an attacking button when an opponent is standing or grounded below you to perform a diving attack.
How to Perform a Ladder Diving Attack to the Outside
For something more spectacular, players can up their diving attack game by using the ladder as a leverage point. This technique has your wrestler running up a ladder and leaping from the top in a high-risk aerial assault. To do this, you'll need your opponent to be on the outside and you inside the ring. From there, you'll need to perform the following actions:
- Pick up the ladder with L1/LB and stand next to the center of the ropes.
- When prompted, press X/A to lean the ladder against the ropes.
- Run at the ladder with L2/LT and press a striking button when at the top of the ladder.
If you mistime the strike input as your character runs up the ladder, the wrestler will simply run off the top of the ladder and land on the floor on their feet.
How to Create a Ladder Bridge
Another exciting feature in WWE 2K24 Ladder Matches is the ability to create a Ladder Bridge between the ring apron and the announcer's table. This can only be done on the right side of the ring, as you need the announcer's table as the second anchor point. To set up a Ladder Bridge, approach the center of the apron on the outside and press R2/RT and L1/LB.
Once set up, there are multiple uses for Ladder Bridges that can inflict some serious punishment on your opponent. Here are the main ways you can hurt your opponent with a Ladder Bridge:
- When your opponent is leaning against the bridge, whether from dragging your opponent there or Irish Whipping them, press the strike button to lift your opponent and drop them on the bridge.
- From inside the ring, Strong Irish Whip your opponent to the right side of the ring to throw them over the top rope and on top of the bridge. From there, climb the top rope with L2 and perform a diving attack to land on your opponent and break the Ladder Bridge.
