Players that love to customize and tinker with every aspect of the gameplay in WWE 2K23 will find more than enough options under the hood. Unfortunately, many of the game's advanced sliders don't have any explanations for them.
As a result, players who don't know what they are doing can easily mess with something they don't understand, making the game too easy or more challenging. WWE 2K23's advanced submission sliders offer a way for players to have the kinds of grappling matches they want.
Gameplay Options
Before heading into the advanced submission settings, players should decide to mash the buttons for attacks and defense or select the Allow Held Input For Mini-Games options. Some players may find the held input option is more accessible to work on a wrestler's body parts, as they only have to hold down the prompted button presses. To change this setting, use the following steps:
- Highlight the Options menu.
- Select Gameplay.
- Highlight the Allow Held Input For Mini-Games and turn it on or off.
Advanced Submissions Sliders
The following sliders represent the advanced submission mini-game, and players can make it easier or more challenging, depending on their preferences. Defeating Roman Reigns on Legend mode is more achievable using submissions with the proper settings.
- Attacker Cancel Threshold(Player) - Turning this on forces a time limit on canceling the submission. Switch it off if players want complete control over the submission mini-game as the attacker.
- Attacker Button Press Strength(Player) - This slider determines the strength of the attacker's submission attempt. The higher the number, the stronger the attack will be at performing a submission move.
- Attacker Wrong Button Press Strength(Player) - Determines how much the submission attacker in WWE 2k23 is penalized for pressing the wrong button. If the attacker presses the wrong button, the defender will gain an advantage in the submission mini-game.
- Defender Button Press Strength(Player) - This slider determines how well the defending wrestler caught in submissions can escape. The higher the number, the better they are at breaking the submission attempt.
- Defender Wrong Button Press Penalty(Player) - Determines how much the defender of the submission move is penalized for pressing the wrong button in the mini-game. If this slider is high and the wrong button is pressed, the attacker will find it easier to get the submission.
- Attacker Button Press Strength(AI) - Determines the strength of the AI's submission attacks. Turn this down if the player wants a better chance of escaping the submission.
- Attacker Wrong Button Press Strength(AI) - Determines how much the AI in WWE 2K23 is penalized for a wrong button press. However, the AI is always accurate, so it's better to keep the setting at 50.
- Defender Button Press Strength(AI) - This determines how difficult it is to submit the AI.
- Defender Wrong Button Press Penalty(AI) - The same as the attacker's wrong button press, the AI is usually accurate, so it's better to keep it at 50.
That's everything a player needs to know about customizing the submission settings in WWE 2K23. Thanks to the options available, the submission is more enjoyable, and Submission Matches are exciting to play.
