As an Electro unit, it’s best to build Xiangli Yao with a full set of Void Thunder in Wuthering Waves. The Echo set grants him up to 40% extra Electro DMG, which can be very useful when casting his Resonance Liberation. You should also use Thundering Mephis as his main Echo since it further increases his Electro and Resonance Liberation DMG.

Xiangli Yao is a DPS unit, so, stack as much Crit and Electro when building his stats. For Cost 4 Echo, go for Crit DMG or Crit Rate. For both Cost 3, build Xiangli Yao with Electro DMG. Finally, for Cost 1, ATK% is the best stat. As for his Sub-stats, Crit DMG and Rate are the priority, with Resonance Liberation DMG% and ATK% coming after for Xiangli Yao’s build in Wuthering Waves.

As a DPS, build Xiangli Yao with his signature weapon in Wuthering Waves, which is Verity's Handle. The Gauntlet massively increases his Resonance Liberation’s DMG while giving him a decent amount of Crit Rate from its sub-stats.

Abyss Surges isn’t the best Gauntlet for Xiangli Yao as it’s a stat stick for him. Buffing Xiangli Yao’s ATK% while slightly giving him more Resonance Skill and Basic ATK DMG can still help him be effective during combat. The actual good weapon for Xiangli Yao is Stonard. The 4-star Gauntlet increases his Crit Rate while granting him more Resonance Liberation DMG.

Finally, Marcato and Hollow Mirage are good enough when there are no other options around. Marcato is more helpful since it allows Xiangli to maximize his Concerto Energy faster, allowing for a better team’s energy management. As for Hollow Mirage, it’s just a weapon that buffs Xiangli Yao’s ATK% to a certain level, which is not ideal for all situations.

Xiangli Yao Forte Priority In Wuthering Waves

Xiangli Yao deals most of his DMG through his Resonance Liberation, which makes it a top priority to level up. His Forte Circuit offers some strong scaling for some of his hits, and that’s enough reason for it to be the second-best Forte for Xiangli Yao in Wuthering Waves. Finally, as a DPS that uses all of his attacks, it’s better to also level up Xiangli Yao’s Resonance Skill, Basic ATK, and Intro Skill. They don’t offer what his Liberation and Forte Circuit do, but it’s still beneficial to hit harder when Xiangli Yao is on the field.
