Summary
- Wuthering Waves Version 2.0, set for January 2, promises new gameplay features, Echoes, enemies, and craftable weapons.
- A possible reveal of the mysterious character Katixiya in Chinese media has Wuthering Waves fans excited.
- Fans think Katixiya may be a surprise character in Version 2.0, though this is purely speculation based on her appearance in the Chinese advertisement.
Wuthering Waves has shared a first look at the upcoming character Katixiya, but the reveal is exclusive to Chinese media. There are several new characters confirmed to debut in-game in Wuthering Waves Version 2.0 with the release of Rinascita.
With the imminent release of Wuthering Waves Version 2.0, developer Kuro Games has consistently shared promotional trailers and illustrations on social media about the patch. There are five confirmed characters for Wuthering Waves' next update, with the first two joining the roster being Carlotta and Roccia, both 5-Star units from Rinascita. Through the game's recent official media, fans have been able to guess which units are expected to debut in later updates, such as Brant and Zani. However, it seems Kuro Games decided to subtly reveal another upcoming character in an exclusive trailer.
Wuthering Waves fans have spotted the mysterious character Katixiya in an official advertisement exclusive to BiliBili. Although Katixiya's in-game model had been leaked before along with other Version 2.0 characters, Kuro Games has not officially unveiled her in Western promotional content. The Bilibili video shows a closeup of Katixiya, highlighting her pointed elf-like ears and a branch wreath on her head. This appearance coincides with earlier Version 2.0 leaks about her design. With Katixiya showing up in official Wuthering Waves media, albeit only on Chinese social media, there is a chance that players will meet her in Wuthering Waves Version 2.0 as a surprise character.
Wuthering Waves Subtly Reveals New Character Katixiya
Katixiya isn't the only previously highly rumored character to debut in future Wuthering Waves patches. Earlier leaks hinted that Phrolova would not only be the main antagonist in Version 2.0, but would also join the playable roster sometime in the cycle. Moreover, Wuthering Waves' Aero Rover will reportedly debut in Version 2.2, making it the MC's third playable Element after Havoc and Spectro. Considering that there are only six Elements in the RPG, it seems that Rover will master half of them sooner rather than later.
Wuthering Waves has focused its promotional content for Rinascita mostly on the region's visuals, but players can expect more information about new gameplay features in the upcoming days. On the other hand, Kuro Games has shared some glimpses at new Echoes and enemies, as well as a new series of craftable weapons in Wuthering Waves. The RPG's 2.0 update is scheduled for January 2 and will introduce fans to the city of Ragunna and more explorable areas in Rinascita.
