  • WrestleQuest, a hybrid game blending JRPG and pro wrestling, will feature around 80 hours of content and has DLC in active development.

  • Jarrett has teased that the WrestleQuest DLC will be "huge."

The upcoming WrestleQuest is said to have around 80 hours of content in the base game, but there's even more to look forward to after launch, according to wrestling legend Jeff Jarrett. Jeff Jarrett's Hall of Fame wrestling career has spanned decades, with Double J appearing in nearly every major promotion imaginable, including WCW, WWE, TNA (a promotion he created that exists today under the name Impact Wrestling), AAA, NJPW, and most recently, AEW.

Jarrett is an active member of the AEW roster, appearing on the company's television programs and pay-per-view events alongside stablemates Jay Lethal, Satnam Singh, and Sonjay Dutt. Along with his wrestling duties, Jarrett hosts the popular My World podcast with his co-host Conrad Thompson. And on top of all that, Jarrett is also serving as the Executive Producer of Wrestling at Mega Cat Studios for the JRPG/pro wrestling hybrid game WrestleQuest.

The Best War Games recently spoke with Jeff Jarrett about his influence on the WrestleQuest game. Jarrett said that he was "all in" on Mega Cat and will continue working with the studio as DLC for the game is in active development. "Candidly, we're just getting started." When pressed for details about the WrestleQuest DLC, Jarrett said, "You might be shocked. Think outside the box. It's not big, it's huge." Mega Cat's James Deighan added, "If you're a fan of video games, it's really going to be exciting. It's beyond our wildest dreams. And it really just speaks to the perception around WrestleQuest. And the amount of wrestling intelligence that Jeff has inspired us to follow through with. It's super exciting. I can't wait to announce it to everybody."

As for when WrestleQuest's DLC plans will be announced, that remains to be seen. Unfortunately, WrestleQuest's release date was pushed back to the end of August, so it's possible fans will have to wait longer than expected to learn about the game's DLC plans.

Jeff Jarrett and the WrestleQuest developers stopped short of providing specifics about what the DLC will entail, but they did reveal someone who they would like to incorporate in DLC or a potential sequel. Deighan cautioned that "nothing's signed yet," but controversial wrestling manager and popular podcast host Jim Cornette is on the wish list of wrestling personalities the team would like to add to the game.

WrestleQuest launches August 22 for PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
